Recommend an MMO

Would not recommend this at all. Unless something has massively changed in the last couple years, you certainly don't want to play Eve as your first MMO.

Really, unless your idea of space flight is to sort through a dozen menus to do anything, you probably should look somewhere else.

WoW is an oldy, SWTOR is a newbie, both look like they play similarly. Guild Wars 2 is coming out sometime next year. It all depends where the people you are trying to follow go.

...Or you could just leave them to their own devices and find a hobby you are actually interested in. Whichever.

Eve online was the first MMO I played. It has ruined me I can't play any other MMO for more than a month or two. They are all just so mm I dunno what the word is but when I kill someone they should not be able to respawn and just go continue on with their quests.

^ This is why I play EvE Online, and like everyone has stated it's a bloody complicated game. It took me months to get my first solo-kill, and during that time I had lost a pile of ships, and it was really just luck the first time. But if you have the patience to get into it you've got an unbelievably rich MMO experience. Well, that and griefers, scammers, elites and you're really basically playing a spreadsheet simulator.

So, in an attempt to finally conclude this: EvE has the most awesome PvP by far, and is probably one of the most excruciatingly difficult games you'll ever play.
