inFamous is my favorite PS3 exclusive so far. It's a lot of fun. I also really enjoyed Uncharted although if you aren't a completist it is kind of a short adventure. Fun while it lasts though. The new Batman game is awesome and PS3 owners get to play as the Joker in special challenge maps.

Well Metal Gear Solid 4 is out. I hear it's good...

I don't have a PS3 myself but hope it helps
technically that's not so much a game as a interactive movie. I think the whole LOTOR Trilogy was shorter than MGS4..

If you haven't played the first 3 mgs's then don't even touch 4 because the story is basically impenetrable and the editor was in dire need of a machete (and considering Kojima was the editor). The fourth was pretty much Kojima waving his willy around why asking if we had a 'problem' which all the die hard fans immediately reply "nonono, we're fine."

Yeah, being a newbie to the franchise I didn't like it, as for good games, inFamous was effing awesome and the platinum is a fun yet tedious challenge. And it was made by the creators of Sly Cooper which immediately makes it awesome, sly 2 (never played 1, sadly) ranks second on all time favorite game right behind burnout 3 (my parents were pretty strict on the ratings which sucked, especially in the ps2 era.)
I have to disagree. For some reason everyone thinks MGS4 sucked just because of the story and all the cut-scenes. Myself, prior to getting MGS4 I had never played more than 10 minutes of any MGS game at friends' houses. But I have to say I loved it. The gameplay was amazing, customizable guns, intelligent AI, excellent graphics, responsive controls (holding L1 to aim was annoying at the start, but you get used to it. It's actually easier that way since it helps with the stealth parts), good boss fights, tons and tons of guns to choose from, extras/bonuses/easter eggs etc etc.

Ok, YES some cutscenes were drawn out or just stupid at points, and YES you'll be fairly lost at the start (I was, they never even explained what PMC stood for...), but by the 2nd or 3rd chapter you get the just of it (maybe before that). Plus if they really annoy you, start -> down -> X. Anyways the actual gameplay more than makes up for it. Hell maybe you'll even get into the story. I'd give it a try, at least rent it.

LittleBig Planet and InFamous for sure. Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 if you want.

Aside from those, just get the multi-platform games, such as CoD4 and Prototype.

First off, I highly recommend free demos. If you like cod, you should probably get Killzone 2, there?s a demo for it. I didn?t like it that much but I?m not into military FPSs.
Warhawk; if you have a ps3, you should have Warhawk.

And even though it?s J and has RPG elements to it, I think you should try Valkyria Chronicles.
The new Batman game is very cool too, I haven?t gotten very far in it but you can get a demo for that too.
Unfortunately two of my favorite games this gen don?t have demos: Saints Row 2 and Fallout 3.

Try the demos for some of those little psn games too: echocrome, last guy, Pixel Junk..., and Trash Panic.

no jrpgs please or cod.ive had a ps3 for 2 years by now and only have 3 games(my ps2 has like 60 games to it and i only play 10 XD)and i jus wanna see what other people think is a good ps3 game.im definatly buying metal gear solid 4 i jus keep renting it as of late so ya any recommendations?
I know you don't like JRPG's... but have you tried folklore? It really is NOTHING like any other RPG you have ever played.
Failing that, I'd say Lair (with the patch of course), Fracture, Resistance 2, Ghost Recon GRAW 2, Vampires Rain: Altered Species (If you want a REAAAAAALLY hard stealth game), I'd say battlefield bad company, but that might be too similar to COD4 for you.
The new Prince of Persia is also pretty sweet, but it's short.

hard stealth game? sounds like my kinda game
everyone slandered it, but I think it's quite decent.
If you can get past the fact that Loyd is David (Snake) mixed with Sam Carpenter, it's quite an enjoyable game.
The plot is decent enough, the graphics aren't crash hot, but the stealth... Oh dear god the stealth..
Don't even try killing enemies unless you're armed with an M16 or a shotgun, they will rip you apart in one go.
If you're spotted, be prepared to start over from a checkpoint. I won't lie to you, this game is hard.
It's hard to look past the incredibly deep (in a bad way) story, and I really didn't care for any of the gameplay past the first Act.
