Recommend me a band! (Not quite what you think)

See, this isn't just your average dime-a-dozen music thread. What I want you to recommend me here is some kind of music from your home country that's relatively unknown internationally. Swedes, there's no need to recommend Abba, but Peter LeMarc, who in my mind is the most wonderful Swedish pop singer (and I'm being very loose in my definition of the word "pop singer" here) ever is a good recommendation since non-Swedish people won't have heard of him. If you're a finn and you're thinking about mentioning Kaija Koo, you've understood what I mean.

From the UK, I'd recommend Imperial Leisure. Definitely different and definitely the best live band I've ever seen. You guys probably won't think much of it, but I'm expecting big things from these kids.

Ah god. Hmmm... okay well, from my home state, I recommend The String Cheese Incident. They're a jam band from Boulder, and they have an awesome name and some fun songs.

Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - Dan is a top DJ and remixer, you can pick up tons of his work right off his wordpress site for free; Scroobius Pip is a great spoken word poet, I just got his latest book through the post.

Put together they're a brilliant combination - pretty sure they're not big on the international scene as when I went to see them the other week I told people I was off to a gig "who you off to see?" followed by "who are they?"

Depends on what you're looking for. Yeah, most of the biggest Dutch artists like Frans Bauer or Gerard Joling suck ass, but there's a lot of good stuff too.
