From Germany, of course it depends on what kind of music you like.

Die Ärzte are incredibly successful in Germany since 1982. They sold about 25 million records, which is a lot, considering Germany, Austria and Switzerland only have ~100mio people. Yet they have no international success at all, i suppose you have to be able to understand what they're saying to like them.

BAP sing in Cologne dialect, therefore also German subtitles :p
Also one of the most successful German bands.

Fettes Brot make non-evil-gangsterish hip-hop. Some songs have northgerman dialect such as

Wir sind Helden made German popmusic popular again in 2003(pop music used to be english in the 90s).

Clueso recently had success with his music. Less electro, more guitar than Wir sind Helden.

From the UK, I'd recommend Imperial Leisure. Definitely different and definitely the best live band I've ever seen. You guys probably won't think much of it, but I'm expecting big things from these kids.

I think I saw these guys open for Less Than Jake once, thew were pretty good!

My suggestion is England's own Frank Turner, absolute genius.

Erm... The Beatles? Fuck, they're the most well known band ever.

This may seem like a bit of a cop-out, but I recommend checking out some of Murray Gold's soundtracks for Doctor Who. The guy is seriously one of the best composers out there.

If you watch Doctor Who, then you probably know what I mean, but if you don't then here are two of (in my opinion) the most epic tracks he's made. The first one is unreleased as of yet and appeared in the End of Time episode.

well i guess since im from america ill go with MC Chris, MC Lars, Bobaflex, Stephen Lynch and That 1 Guy. I hope these are little known enough.
Just noticed this, I fucking LOVE MC Chris, it winds me up that Frontalot get's so much press for "inventing" nerdcore as some kind of novelty rap genre, whereas Chris is just a fucking awesome rapper who happens to be a geek.

Skiller, Swedish metal band. They performed at my school three years ago. Sadly, that was before I grew into my niche in metal. So I didn't give them much attention. Then there is Raubtier, the shameless Rammstein ripoff, now only with heavier riffs. And I'm gonna mention In Flames. Why? Because I can. So:

Awww... fuck.

I don't know if I like any other Swedish artists to be honest. They are all douches.

Yes, even those shitty metal bands from Sweden. Screw them.

I can't think of anyone.

Except maybe... Dolph Lundgren
Hey, don't stereotype my idols.

My Recommendation: don't try any Dutch music ... i'm from The Netherlands, but even i think that it's horrible! ;P
Oh Christ, I know. Music from over here is so terribly bad it's just not funny.

Except Armin van Buren.

Also Skindred ( most people don't know they're welsh) most people have heard one song by them but the rest of they're stuff is pretty good as well.
oh fury UK (technically English) really deserve a mention too.

Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - Dan is a top DJ and remixer, you can pick up tons of his work right off his wordpress site for free; Scroobius Pip is a great spoken word poet, I just got his latest book through the post.

Put together they're a brilliant combination - pretty sure they're not big on the international scene as when I went to see them the other week I told people I was off to a gig "who you off to see?" followed by "who are they?" :D
Scroobius Pip and Dan le Sac are pure awesome

And my mate has met Scroobius ¬_¬ bah.

But yes they are brilliant.
