I see that you are currently reading Marvel comics. Is this a preference or is anything allowed?
Anyway, I would recommend DC's 'Titans' staring Deathstroke (Dc's version of Deadpool, though he isn't funny, they are just very similar in other ways such as their costume being similar, their whole schtick with guns and swords) and a mercinary group that he has thrown together. I've recently gotten into it, and it has been very interesting and enjoyable. Granted, I loved the character beforehand, so maybe it is part of my bias. Anyway, it starts off with Deathstroke and his group killing a hero, and it was a little offsetting with me, but I'm sticking with it and the character overall is interesting. Granted, he is essentially described as being the world's best mercenary, so it isn't like spiderman with the whole personal life going on, though I suppose Dr. Strange has that same kind of amazing power that you can awe at him a bit without feeling that they are simply 'trying to hard' to make him cool.
Anyway, if you are interested, I have no problem talking more about it, though I have a warning. 'Titans' is also the same name of a group of superheros Deathstroke used to fight, and I think that there is a certain number in the series that is the transition from the heroes to the villains. The heroes, while I liked them from the tv show 'teen titans' a few years back, don't work for me in the comic books. Anyway,'Titans Villains for Hire' is the title of the first paperback, and introduces the group.
(On a side note, from my personal small collection, Titans 17 is the one with the heroes, and 28 is the first one I own with the villains, so the transition should be between there.) Anyway, Titans is still running, and I'm picking it up once a month as well as grabbed a couple of older issues and the paperback to bring me up to speed.
I can go into a lot more detail if any of this seemed interesting. Sorry for it being a bit of a rant. I won't say it is perfect, but I find it to be pretty good. And it taught me that Bruce Wayne Batman is dead in the current storyline. (Though multiple advertisements in the comic show that he is definatly going to be brought back.)
