How has no-one mentioned Meteos yet?!

Geez, I STILL haven't beaten that bloody game.

And I second the Pokemon Silver remake. <3

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is good if you like to play with the features of a DS.
Metroid Prime: Hunters is a great FPS, with the hunter primary weapon abilities and alt-form fun.
Kirby Canvas Curse is a great way to have fun with the touch screen. The gameplay mechanics make this game pretty difficult at times, and trying to get all the medals makes this game last a long time. Plus it features meta knight, Dedede, Waddle Doo and Dee.
Action Replay because it can extend the game time you will have with games by atleast 40%. Action Replay is especially fun on Pokemon games because it allows you to walk through walls and all sorts of things. And if you don't like the codes already entered in, you can look online for new ones.

EDIT: And WarioWare. Although it is somewhat old, the minigames are so random and odd it will keep you playing even once you beat it.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is fucking hard. To the point of being ridiculous. I've beaten all the other Advance Wars games, and I can't even get past mission 16 on DoR.
Do you mean this one [http://www.advancewarsnet.com/files/awdor/Mission%20Maps/C16a%20Hope%20Rising.png]? I don't remember that one being too hard, but I might be thinking of the wrong mission. Or I might have been lucky, with the fog of war and all.

Meteos is good, Pokemon is good of course, Professor Layton and the Curious Village is great, Picross is good, Tetris is a good update apparently. I hear Disgaea is a good TBS, in the style of Final Fantasy Tactics A2 more than Advance Wars or Fire Emblem.

I didn't like Phantom Hourglass much.

Don't overlook the GBA! There are a lot of great games for that, usually cheap, if you can find them. I recently got Rebelstar: Tactical Command, which is an obscure little game that combines the gameplay of X-Com with the character and tone of the early Advance Wars games. (It was made by the main creators of X-Com.)

If you liked OoE you'll like Portrait of Ruin and Dawn of Sorrow, as they are quite similar save for their difficulty gradients (Sorrow being the easiest, Ecclesia the hardest by far, Portrait in-between). If you haven't played the original I highly recommend Kirby Super Star Ultra. I've also heard good things about Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, a sequel to one of my absolute favorite GBA games blending platforming with RPG elements, like Paper Mario without the Paper. I hear the third one is going to eventually come out here as well under the name 'Mario & Luigi & Bowser'.

This man speaks the truth. Elite Beat Agents is made of win and epic. Buy it now and picket outside of Nintendo offices for a sequel.
There is a sequel, but it's called Ouendan 2 (Ouendan being the Japanese name for Elite Beat Agents), it also rocks.

I sold my DS and games but I thought Metroid Prime: Hunters was pretty decent. If you can get Golden Sun 1 and/or 2, those are great games for the Gameboy Advance that I'd highly recommend.

What he said. If you can get a hold of some GBA games down at your local Gamestop, you should. A lot of great stuff came out for GBA.

What I'd say has pretty much already been said. Though one I didn't hear mentioned is Big Bang Mini.

If you can find them then pick up Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars, and Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis. They are GBA games though, but they are no less awesome because of that, get them...NAO!!

Scribblenauts looks like it would be amazing when it comes out,

Other than that I'll have to recommend the only three games I have.

Kirby: Squeak Squad, short and easy but really fun

Mario Kart DS, it is the devil, but you cannot stop playing it!

LoZ: The Phantom Hourglass, very good Zelda game with some nifty puzzles

]How about Phantom Hourglass? Or save it for Heart Gold and Soul Silver, DS remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver.
And Chrono Trigger DS.
I heard Days of Ruin is pretty good, I was going to recommend Shadow Dragon but you've already played it.

EDIT: I'm sorry about the double/triple posts, I was trying to edit this one.

I don't mean to brag or anything, but I've never played an Advance Wars game before, and I managed to make it all the way to mission 25 in Days of Ruin before I gave up on it.

On-topic, if you like side-scrolling platformers, then Contra 4 (heavy arcade-style action), Kirby Super Star Ultra (simple, fun platforming), and New Super Mario Bros. (classic Mario goodness) are all good buys. For strategy, there's this game called Robocalypse out, and I've heard good things about it. If you want another Fire Emblem-type game, the Advance Wars games are pretty similar.

GTA Chinatown Wars is definitely one of the best games of this year so far and I'm not just talking about portables. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much after GTA4, but this game delivers the fun.

Other favorite DS titles: Trauma Center, Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright, but I don't know if those fit in with your prefrences.
