To those of you saying the Wii is bad for FPS games, I don't have THAT many games to go on beyond Metroid Prime (when I played RE: Umbrella Chronicles at a friend's house, that worked out fairly well). That said, it doesn't seem fair. The zapper is horrific, the FPS library isn't huge, but I almost like it better than a PC for the Prime series. Not because it's better than a mouse, just because it actually adds a lot to the fun. One of the few times I really appreciate motion control.

Hm. Probably going to get ripped to pieces for contradicting people and partially supporting motion control in one post.

wait for goldeneye? ... honestly my real answer would be to save your money and buy a pc (the steam community is huge and growing) or get a console that has more fps's ...

good luck with that

Call of Duity:Mader Warfare
Metroid Prime:Trilogy
The Conduit
House of the dead:Over kill
Dead Space:Extraction
Red Steel 2

Just a few good ones i can think of.
Those Elibits games were also pretty good as well.

I hate aiming with the Wiimote. It could just be that my setup is particularly jerky, but trying to accurately shoot things with it is horrible.

So is turning round.

That said, Metroid Prime 3 was fun. I'd put that at the top of my Wii FPS list.

Metroid Prime 3 is one of my favorite games, I thought The Conduit was very underrated, and if you like rail shooters, House of the Dead is pretty damn good. Also, there's apparently a GoldenEye remake coming soon...

There's a great add-on peripheral to the Wii that has loads of great fps's. The strange thing is that it requires it's own power source and is actually large than the Wii itself. it's called the Xbox 360. If you can find one of the original releases of the Xbox 360 it should only be about £80 on eBay.
Unfortunately, it's also the most notoriously glitchy and unreliable of the "add-ons." And you can't get the extended warranty on the original releases. Stick with the ones I mentioned.

house of the dead overkill
and the two resident evil on rails shooters are pretty fun if you like resident evil

Metroid Prime, any of them, is the best it is going to get.

Conduit is a fucking abortion, I kid you not, that game is awful and has worse graphics than GameCube games released 7 years earlier. The sounds are terrible, the enemies are shameless ripoffs, the guns suck, the online multiplayer is an atrocity. Simply put, The Conduit is a cheap, bland game that would get embarrassed by the fucking N64.

House of the Dead got really positive reviews, but I'd hardly call and on-rails shooter a true FPS.

Call of Duty World at War was ported to the Wii. Of course there is no multi, no co-op, and no Nazi Zombies...most likely due to the Wiis low-end hardware.

resident evil 4...no wait that is a third person

The metroid prime games, you can get all 3 on one disk i think or atleast all in one pack. It comes with for all 3 the first person games the 2 from the game cube and the one from the wii.
I have been wanting it for a while.

I think they discontinued the Metroid Prime Trilogy pack. I'm sure ebay still has it.

Too bad, because I think that series is one of the best games anyone can have for their Wii.

OT: The Metroid Prime games are decent FPS games for the Wii, as well as the Conduit (I don't get the praise behind it though) and the Call of Duty versions. The Red Steel games are also decent, but nothing special. You're really not going to get a lot of shooters out of the Wii, or at least half-decent ones.

Well, I liked both Red Steels (more the second one). Multiplayer is fun on the first one (probably because I am actually good at it...) but swordplay is better on the second one.
