Hey fellow escapists,

I'm asking here cause I respect your opinions, even if I might disagree occasionally. :)

I'm after a good iphone game, specifically a Role Playing Game, I got really into "Choice of the dragon" and "choice of broadsides" so I know those "choice of" games, which i really enjoy, graphics don't matter and neither does cost, I'm willing to pay for a good game.

I even enjoyed "Surviving High School" but less on subsequent play troughs since it forced you into doing certain things even though I tried really hard to fail.

I also played "Cause of death" which was pretty cool too.

My latest find was "Plague" where you play as a microbug and try to kill everyone on earth. (All 6.8 Billion people)

Don't say:
Angry Birds (got it, think its overrated)
Doodle Jump (got it, don't enjoy the repetitive get a high score type game)
Jet pack joyride or Zombie Highway (same reasons as above)
Dragonvale or any vale, ville, farm, ect games. (Got some and hate the wait around in real time to do stuff or buy in game gems to speed things up type game)

If you really love one of the above mentioned games mention it here and why, other escapists might still find them awesome!

Thanks!!!

I'd recommend:
Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy III
Chrono Trigger

Cheers!

Ghost Trick:phantom Detective and Pheonix Wright:Ace Attorney.
Both started off as DS games but their still two of the best handheld games ever made.

In the RPG genre, besides what's already been mentioned... Aralon HD is pretty good, it's a 3D open world-y action RPG thing. Not the best kind of game to be playing on a handheld since it requires long play sessions to really get anywhere, but it sounds like something you might be interested in.

The Zenonia series is pretty good. They're top down 16-bit style action RPGs which have an overworld/dungeon system that's kind of like a cross between Zelda and Pokemon. Pokemon in that as you progress through the story you travel across the land and open up new areas, and Zelda in that you have to go in to dungeons and fight bosses throughout the game. The levelling system is pretty basic. You have a small selection of special moves and different loot to equip, but you only get one weapon to use. Combat feels very satisfying though. That said, you get to pick from a selection of different characters at the start of the game, and they act like classes. The story also varies very slightly between classes, but it's little more than a change in dialogue.

Aralon HD is a good one too. It's a really huge 3D open world RPG that's kind of reminiscent of something like a 3rd person Elder Scrolls game (they even steal some minor assets), but you can play it 1st person if you want. The world is massive and the story is pretty ambitious for an iOS game. There's also tons of loot in this game, and loads of different types of equipment to choose from. There's also a pretty healthy range of skills. Although the game kind of feels like an Elder Scrolls game in it's tone (although understandably a bit more primitive), you don't have full reign around the world right from the start. The world is separated in to different zones (which are each very large) and you will be obstructed from going in to areas you're not supposed to yet by things like a quest item or simply enemy strength. I personally haven't gotten that far in the game, but so far the progression through these zones seems pretty linear. Maybe later on it opens up, but I doubt it. Each zone is pretty open with lots of different places to explore within it, so it's no big deal. The game is super long though. In terms of length it could stand up against plenty other home console games.

The company that make it (Crescent Moon Games) also make lots of other good RPGs for iOS, but Aralon is their magnum opus. They're planning to release a game called Ravensword 2 in the near future which should replace Aralon in that title.

King of Dragon Pass [http://appshopper.com/games/king-of-dragon-pass] is a pretty amazing RPG time sink.

Problem with that though, is you sometimes get so engrossed in a game and forget you are having a dump.

Then bad things happen. :/

Try Tower Madness, it's an incredibly addicting and fun game. As the title suggests, it's a Tower Defense game where you defend your prized sheep against aliens. No, I'm not joking!
