So, I've decided to get a new graphics card since the integrated graphics chipset my PC came with in 2009 of course doesn't play anything older than 2006 or so.

I of course want to find something that is compatible with what I have so that I only have to get a new graphics card and nothing else, since it's the only thing I will have the money for.

Specs:

OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista Home Premium
Version 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002
System Manufacturer Dell Inc.
System Model Inspiron 530
System Type X86-based PC
Processor Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz, 2500 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Dell Inc. 1.0.18, 2/24/2009
SMBIOS Version 2.5
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.0.6002.18005"
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4,00 GB
Total Physical Memory 3,24 GB
Available Physical Memory 1,20 GB
Total Virtual Memory 6,71 GB
Available Virtual Memory 4,25 GB
Page File Space 3,53 GB

Here is what the case looks like minus the graphics card that is can be seen in the first hardware add-in slot.

I don't want to spend more than 100 dollars. In my searching, this is what I've come up with so far:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150542&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=4176827&SID=ds46fq9piakw

Will that work or is there anything better for the same price? I'm thinking I won't find anything better, though I don't know what will actually install properly in my type of PC/Case.

The AMD 7000 series is out in about a month, just wait until then.

I have the exact same card, I use it for my micro itx motherboard, you need to aim bigger.
Okay, so that AMD 7000 series coming out will work for my setup?

Well I'll look into it.

Thanks.

I recommend 6770 HD of AMD. Of course, since your computer is Dual-Core I'll give a fair warning now that your computer will probably bottle-neck the graphic cards performance. That is, the graphic card is so fast that the CPU won't be able to cope with the speed and so will start slowing the graphic card down... literally.

However, again, 7000 series is just around the corner, wait and see what AMD dishes and then decide. Good luck!

I'd agree with the previous posts that waiting is the best choice. It would be worth checking into the wattage of your power supply. Ensure that you have the recommended minimum wattage for any card you buy.
