Well as it is I am rather bored and nothing new has come out that I haven't played (finished Deus Ex).
I'm a big fan of horror games and I would like you my fellow Escapists to recommend some horror games for either xbox 360 or PC.

Side not: Resident evil and L4D are not in my view "horror" games because my definition is something which is creepy/scary.

Thanks everyone!!

Condemned Criminal Origins was great. Second one was scary in some parts. Nightmare House for HL2 is good and it's free.

Silent Hill 2 for the PC, it's kinda hard to find nowadays since it's not available on any of the popular digital distribution sites but if you can find a boxed copy you're in for one hell of a ride.

Deploy the standard horror game recommendation!

Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

It's a horror game. It's the good stuff. And yes, it's scary.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for the Xbox is pretty good. It is compatible with the Xbox 360, but it has a problem. If you remove the hard drive while you're playing the game, it corrupts the Cthulhu save. But, it's atmospheric, your health is limited, and H.P. Lovecraft is always good for a scare and a look at the insignificance of humanity when compared with the universe.

You can also get that game for the PC from Steam.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is brilliant, as is every Silent Hill apart from 0rigins and Shattered Memories.

Hate to recommend it again, but Amensia: The Dark Descent is just about the best horror game you're going to get. The atmosphere they manage to make is unbelievable, I've never felt anything like it when playing a game.

Can't really think of many actually scary games apart from that.

If you can find it; Eternal Darkness Sanitie Requim is a wonderful horror game. Also Amensia, any of the Silent Hills & Dead Space.

Deadspace , but only if you play on hard and above ,due to bullets being scarce you will fear every enemy encouter.
Silent hill 3( better than 2 imo ) play this on normal but riddle level on hard if you want challenging puzzles
Siren
Clock tower3

You choose a hard genre , horror is boarderline non-existant , is more gore than horror. Speaking of which i don't know if saw is a good game , but it got a sequel so...

Amnesia: The dark Descent.
I've heard good things about Nightmare house 2, so if you have Half life 2, definitely get it.
uhhh Silent hill 2 as well, and Metro 2033, although not horror, is really immersive and has creepy moments, as well as intense.

Yeah.. Amnesia, the Penumbra games, Dark Corners of the Earth, Condemned, Yume Nikki, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, etc.

Most of these will be available on the PC or Xbox.
