but if you so choose get SNES9x and get Chrono Trigger as it is a great JRPG that is really accessible by anyone and I can't think of anything negative about it, prefect blend of epic, silly and fun.
But seriously Flames, you're not going to have a very good selection if you're looking for a legit copy of a J-rpg on a pc. There might be two. And if you're fresh to the genre, I'd hate for you to have a bad experience with one be cause it isn't the creme of the crop, it'd probably be a waste of your time.
Look at it this way. I am a PC gamer, always have been and, for the foreseeable future, always will be. I am interested in JRPGs from the point of view of someone who has read the rage on forums both ways about them and wants to see for himself what all the fuss is about and try to add something constructive to the debate.Azazellee said:If you're serious about giving JRPGs a try, then spend the pocketchange on a PS2.
I have given this a budget of £10 because that is my budget for buying almost any game (apart from certain valve games and some Star Wars offerings). I want to try out a JRPG and give my honest opinion on it and, in order to focus on the game, I need to play it on something familiar. If I reviewed it on a console I would probably spend much of the review complaining about how I dislike controllers rather than looking at the actual game.
