Recommend me a pokemon game!

Ok so fancy picking up a pokemon game again.

I have a regular DS so what do you think is the best game?

I think I played up to Diamond/Pearl(can't remember which one I had) which was pretty good.

I'm looking for a decently long game with great pokemon....black and white doesn't cut it....too dear and pokemon look terrible!

So which game would you recommend me?

Emerald, if your DS is one of the ones that can play Gameboy games.

If not, and you aren't willing to buy a gameboy, Heart Gold and Soul Silver are a blast. Not as good as Emerald, but still fun.

If you still have a Gameboy Advance (I don't know if Gameboy SP will play it...) I'd suggest the original Pokemon Gold/Silver.

Besides that I'd just like to point out that Black and White are actually extremely fun, even if they just ran their fingers along an animal dictionary.

Diamond/Pearl/Platinum is my favorite, personally, but HeartGold/SoulSilver is a pretty close second.

Third gen all the way!

Forget what the majority of pokefans say about the games, third gen is easily my favorite. I love Hoenn, think the pokemon have the best designs, and you get to beat the shit out of eco-terrorists. Who doesn't want to do that?!

Besides that I'd just like to point out that Black and White are actually extremely fun, even if they just ran their fingers along an animal dictionary.

SP plays all pre-advanced games, but you have to be cautious not to bunp it by accident or it may freeze. But I play them on my SP all the time without incident.
