I Have been desperately searching for a sad piece of music, Hopefully aimed at the war section, I prefer piano. Yet I have realized that there isn't much with that taste or else I haven't been looking hard enough. So I was wondering if any of you could just give me a sad song in general. I don't prefer heavy metal, yet really I will listen to what ever now. So if any of you know of a sad music piece, no matter singing or what ever is in there I will listen. Just need some new music is all.

It's sort of bitter-sweet, but leaning on the bitter side. Very piano driven.

This is pretty much against everything except the sad, war bit... but I had to throw it up here anyways, Soldier Side by System of a Down

Not the original version, but much sadder tone:

ETA: one of the saddest songs ever (No piano here, though):

One of the most beautiful songs ever:

There's a modern song called "Mad World" it features piano. It was used in the first trailer for Gears of War.

Another sad song, about a man who commits suicide, is called "Yuma" by Justin Townes Earle. It doesn't feature piano, but it is sad and slow enough. A song that's not as sad but still good would be "Lone Pine Hill" also but Justin. Look 'em up. I use playlist.com.

When I want sad, I go for Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek"

I don't know about the message, but the tone always gets me.

(can I keep my man-card, please?)

Hmm. It's a slow, sweet song, but I've always loved "What the World Needs Now is Love" by Burt Bacharach. Either that or Jeff Buckley's rendition of "Hallelujah".

My girl left home for the states the day after she played this to me.

I don't think I cried so hard in my life.

Edit: Yep, my eyes are watering up right now.

Very sad lyrics

Same album...same feeling

...kind of a downer album all around, honestly. No piano in these, though (ed- take that back, there is in Southampton Dock)....there is in some of the tracks, but if you want something sad and war-related, this entire album comes highly recommended.

ed- apparently posted same one twice. Fixed.

Ninja'd and it's actually a cover of a song from the 80's.

I've got some more suggestions because I am a terrible music fan:

Look beyond Robert Smith's appearance and just listen:

Classic pre-emo emo-type music:

Trent + Piano = teargasm

This might not work absent context, but there are a couple of songs from the games I play.

They're all instrumental, I don't know if that helps.
