Hi escapist!

I don't have any good shooters for PC and now I would really like to have one, so escapist, recommend me a good shooter.

But there's a catch. I'm not into some kind of a realism simulator, no. I'm in for a "jump around like a crazy rabbit and shoot everything that moves"-shooter. And I'd like it cheap also, but that's only optional.

So, what do you have to offer?

Free game, a bit like Quake, amazingly free, real-time editing, small but awesome community, intense gameplay.

If that doesn't satisfy you, try TF2.

Killzone 3, or Half-life 2.

No Just go get the orange box. 3 Different kinds of shooters in one game.

Unreal Tournament 2004 or Quake 3 sound like your type of game. And by now, any computer you could possibly own is pretty much guaranteed to be able to play them.

Orange box, like that one kid said.

Also Killer 7 Is great too, but that'd be really hard to find.

There are four Painkillers in Steam: Redemption, Black edition, Redemption and Resurrection. How much do they differ or do I just aim for the cheapest?

Any other details?

I suggest(for no real reason) The Operative: No One Lives Forever.

I can name a few others...

Oh, wait, also, Deus Ex. But, that is more of an RPGFPS, but still one of the best games your money can buy.

Or...

Bulletstorm.

Your move, broseph. :p

Ugh, Cube -.-
The horribleness of that game is beyond measure. Only thing it has going is that it's free.

Yeah, my friend tried to get me exited of it but it was a little too fast paced for me. But I wouldn't call it horrible though. Insta gib mode was kinda fun.

Single player: Total Overdose (wacky over the top shooter where creative killing is rewarded)

Multi Player: S4 League (free anime-inspired fast paced shooter)

I'm sorry, but my idea of "fun" doesn't involve having to either be a FPS-savant/godchild or spending hours upon hours to hone your reaction-time up to the point where you can dodge lightning. Everyone moves so incredibly fast that hitting someone with instant-gib sniper-rifles that has the crosshair the size of a hairpin becomes rather ludicrous.
Yes, it was okey playing on my school-lan with equally skilled (i.e new to the game) players, where you had a fair chance, but when you come online, taking down the ubernerds that spend day after day playing that game and will cap you the moment you pop your head from cover, the "fun" ends.

True, you could make this argument for any FPS, but others (Halo come to mind) have the decency of a rank-system, where you are matched towards players of the same average skill.

Buuuut, it's free.

Black edition has the actual game, the rest are expansion packs.
