I highly recommend Eldritch. Think of it as Thief meets Splunky. If I have one complaint, it is that the game can be too forgiving, though new game+ ramps up the difficulty.
The story is great, not that Thief1s is all bad, but it's focused more on urban sneaking than the increasingly fantastical elements of the first.Balimaar said:Indeed? What makes it better?KyuubiNoKitsune-Hime said:I'd suggest Theif 2 if you haven't already played it. Also it's leaps and bounds better than the original.
If you enjoy Mark of the Ninja, you should check out Assassin Creed Chronicles China, its sort of a rip off of Mark of the Ninja but its a decent stealth game and the only AC game to actually encourage stealth and ghosting.Balimaar said:Hey guys. Sorry its taken me so long to respond
I'm normally very biased against sidescroller stealth games but after playing Gunpoint and having just watched the first part of a MotN series... looks like it has potential to be something I'll enjoy thanks for thatThe Madman said:Mark of the Ninja

Just looked up a video for that game. The voice acting makes my ears cryRonald Nand said:Death to Spies seriesIts a shame because it looks like a decent game but bad voice acting can really turn me off.
Chalk up another vote for Invisible Inc. It's a different sort of stealth game from the rest to be sure, but worth a look. It's an isometric, turn based stealth game where you control a group of 2-4 agents infiltrating randomly generated buildings and making off with the loot inside. There isn't exactly time pressure, the game being turn based and all, but more defenses activate the more turns you spend in a level, and on the harder difficulties infiltrations that start off silent often end in a mad dash to the exit as every guard in the complex rushes to your location. There's also permadeath and extremely limited initial options for your agents - you basically have to steal everything you're going to use, picking missions likely to have the resources you need at the time. I'd say give it a look.Runepriest said:Invisible Inc is a good stealth game if you arn't set on the First/3rd genre.
and say you should play all of the Syphon Filter games. Even the PS1 titles still hold up, save the graphical fidelity which is dated to say the least. Gameplay, story, characters, and the music (ye gods, the music); all sublime.joest01 said:Either one of the psp Syphon Filter games. Ground Zeroes was fun but I'd only recommend it if it's on sale.Considering you can see pretty much everything it has to offer in about 2 hours it's really not worth paying full priceCasual Shinji said:Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has some good hardcore stealth, that is, if you turn off Reflex mode. And seeing as it's the first entry in the series that doesn't control like a shopping cart, the stealth action is actually satisfying. There's still the odd stealth genre issues, like enemies not wising up when they find a tranquilizer dart stuck in their arm or not sounding the alarm after regaining consciousness from being strangled.
I'll second this recommendation.Alpha Protocol is one of my favourite games from the last gen.It does get a bit easy if you fully level up stealth but it's well worth playing for the story and how your choices affect it.Steve Waltz said:Alpha Protocol was a fairly enjoyable stealth game. Although you might not want to level up TOO high in stealth if you still want a challenge. It also has a lot of chit-chat RPG stuff in it too, consequences for choices and stuff, which gives it a LOT of replay value if you like it. I hear a lot of people don?t like it though, so I guess it?s one of those ?hit-or-miss? games. Personally, I love the game. Good thing it has a lot of replay value in it too, because it took me about 3 playthroughs to fully understand what the hell is going on.![]()
Well, 2 hours is a bit of an exaggeration, unless you're an absolute stealth pro or you're just going through it guns blazin'.MetalDooley said:Ground Zeroes was fun but I'd only recommend it if it's on sale.Considering you can see pretty much everything it has to offer in about 2 hours it's really not worth paying full priceCasual Shinji said:Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has some good hardcore stealth, that is, if you turn off Reflex mode. Not that much of an exaggeration really.Given the size of the map and the fact that there's only a handful of missions a couple of hours isn't that unrealistic unless you're going for 100% completion. As I said fun game but I personally don't think it's worth ?20(or ?40 or whatever ridiculous price Konami were charging on launch).I think I paid about ?7 and I was happy enough with the amount of content at that priceCasual Shinji said:Well, 2 hours is a bit of an exaggeration, unless you're an absolute stealth pro or you're just going through it guns blazin'.
