So, I am a big fan of Critical miss, Name Game, Penny Arcade and webcomics in general.
I would like to expand my library with new ones. Which ones, fellow escapists, can you recommend?
Thank you.

P.S. I would like to read something about gaming, sub-cultures and world politics.

http://www.goblinscomic.com/

tabletop gaming related comic, mostly told from the point of view of low level adventurer fodder.

http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/

Similar to Penny Arcade, but has actual, y'know, story behind it.

This one is fucking brilliant, and you need to read it.

A couple of times a week, Scott provides some insight into the workings of the world, and he does it with the most amazing wit I've ever born witness to.

Smbc is good as well.

El Goonish Shive [http://www.egscomics.com/new_reader.page]: This one's tricky to pin down exactly, so I've put the link to the "New Readers" page, as it's got a general description, and a link to the first comic.

Grrl Power [http://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/48]: An atypical superhero comic, with an atypical superhero. Relatively new, but great so far.

Rival Angels [http://www.RivalAngels.com/about/new-readers-page/]: An ongoing story about women wrestlers. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but even I was surprised at how much I liked it. At the very least, give it a shot. :p

I'm assuming if you read Penny Arcade you probably also read PvP and The Trenches, but if not you should.

Oglaf. I won't link to it, since it is NSFW, but it is a self proclaimed attempt at pornography that immediately devolved into a sex comedy. And it is hilarious.

Most of the ones that have been mentioned already, especially Oglaf (definitely NSFW, but quite amusing).

Also, I'm going to mention Abstruse Goose, XKCD, and SMBC, as surprisingly no-one has mentioned them yet.

I can recommend something to never read. Homestuck. Never go near it. And if anyone claims to like it, they don't know good.

If you want the greatest comic ever to be put on the web then go no further than The Adventures of Dr.Mcninja. It runs on Rule of Cool/Funny and is awesomeness incarnate.

Also because I don't see people mention it enough, Yu+me: Dream, I'm not going to say much about it except it's a surreal lesbian adventure(the site's word not mine) and you should read
it like now.

8-Bit Theater [http://www.nuklearpower.com/2001/03/02/episode-001-were-going-where/] - Over 1200 pages of sprite comic hilarity, easily worth a little (or rather, a lot) of your time.

VG Cats [http://www.vgcats.com/] - No update schedule to speak of, and as a result gets updated very little, but the back catalogue of strips is worth a day spent going through.

Rare Candy Treatment [http://www.rarecandytreatment.com/] - Some damn fine Pokémon humour here.

Nerf NOW!! [http://www.nerfnow.com/] - Been enjoying this one a lot recently. Some great art and TF2-based humour, although not all of it is TF2-based. Occasionally very heartwarming, too.

And if you're into tabletop gaming (specifically, Warhammer 40,000) then I recommend Turn Signals On A Land Raider [http://tsoalr.com/] (sadly ended), Wobbly Model Syndrome [http://www.wobblymodelsyndrome.com/archive.html] and Servants of the Imperium [http://www.servantsoftheimperium.com/comic.php?comicid=1].

For beautiful art and some great dark humour, there's Gone with the Blastwave [http://www.blastwave-comic.com/index.php]. For some of the darkest humour out there, Cyanide & Happines [http://www.explosm.net/comics/2789/] is perfect. And for general nerdery and science jokes, you can't go wrong with XKCD [http://xkcd.com/].

Nerf NOW!!

Does the occasional longer arc, but mostly one off gags, with a mostly recurring cast.

http://phuzzycomics.monicaray.com/ - 4-6 panel strips about the life of the author of the webcomic. Sometimes there are game jokes, but mostly, it's more about her life. Sorta like weekly diary with a punch-line.

http://darklegacycomics.com/ - Old WoW webcomic. The only one I've found that I actually enjoy.

Yay, I've never ninja'd someone before! Although I got ninja'd myself with the suggestion of XKCD. Ninjaception.

FreakAngels: free comic (literal comic book) finished a while back by Warren Ellis, Can't do it justice with an explanation, just google it.

Rice Boy: written by Evan Dahm, started as an excercise in surrealism, turned into what can be best described as Dr. Seuss meets Lord of the Rings. google for better description

The Guilded Age: ongoing fantasy webcomic about a company of adventurers who go about adventuring and trying to stop a war between various fantastical races. Interesting takes on certain characters, with the axe-weilding beserker being the leader and nicest character of the bunch, the Dwarf being a desert crossing mystical ghostbuster, etc. google etc.

Sexy Losers: NSFW. funny in the same way Chuck Palahniuk books are funny, as in so fucked up and wrong you can't help but laugh. It is argued that this is a comic that popularized the "fap" and "schlick" sounds to mean masturbation. watch this one at your own peril, not a bad webcomic per se, but very transgressive one and filthy situations abounds.

Hm... I have a few favorites I'd like to throw out:

Darths and Droids- Star Wars if it was a Tabletop RPG. The movies make more sense if you think of them that way.

The Adventures of Doctor McNinja- Pure awesomeness in comic form.

Scandinavia and the World- Think Hetalia... but based more around the Nordic countries. At the same time, it's very different from Hetalia (but I like them both anyway).

Digger- an epic story about a wombat and her journey to kill a dead god. No, really.

Order of the Stick- An awesome fantasy tale that will keep you interested.

Tales of the Questor- Don't be put of by the... religious themes in the first few parts, it's a great fantasy story.

Not a gaer comic, but try Questionable contenet (Google QC)
It's a pretty funny comic about the Indie Music Scene (whatever that is), although it can be a bit deprressing at times. You'll have to read it from the start to understand most of the story, but it's definatly worth reading.

Alternitavly, there's Girls With Slingshots, which is also pretty good, and if you want something NSFW, try Oglaf. It's like porn with intentional humour.

If you're a fan of things that are totally realistic, are very plausible in the real world, and totally rely on the laws of physics for complete and total accuracy in the way the world works, then, I urge you... Stay away from El Goonish Shive!
http://egscomics.com/
Enjoy!

Here's a manga I've been enjoying. It's a lot more plausible, but, every so often, it slips a little into fantasy.

This is a Sonic-based comic that inspired quite a bunch over the years it was running.
http://www.sonicandpals.com/

If you've ever wanted to see what happens when a six-year-old's imagination, coupled with comic book professionalism looks like, then, look no further!
http://www.axecop.com/

Finally, this is a webcomic designed by one of the people who works in The Escapist. It isn't gaming-related, but, it has got to be the most hilarious series I have ever seen online!
