Well I know that these comics not gaming related but people have used all my other comics (qc,lfg, and manlyguys) both of these comic sites host multiple comics that I can totally recommend.

Sorcery 101 with an interesting story about magic in modern world with excellent art and a good dose of humor.

The comics at SNAFU, I have read the grimtales and powerpuffgirls and Tin comics but I assume others are of the same quality and that quality was top tier.

Let's just say Homestuck.

http://www.mspaintadventures.com/

because it is the most insane webcomic (that still somehow makes sense) and probably longest webcomic on the internet.

Since I haven't seen it on the thread and I know PMJ will love the traffic ...

I'll go ahead and jump on the Homestuck bandwagon. Go. Read it. Now.

I have to put in a reccomendation for Gunnerkrigg Court [http://gunnerkrigg.com/index2.php].

It is very story based, not a "check back every week or so for the funny" kind of webcomic, but if you get involved in the story it can't be beat. Scroll down to the archives dropdown, and start at Chapter 1. Also, disregard the iffy art of the first few chapters, as you can see by the current page, it gets a lot better as it goes on.

If you played Pokemon at all, then Super Effective [http://www.vgcats.com/super/?strip_id=0] should be hilarious to you (especially for people who played Red/Blue/Yellow, Fire Red/Leaf Green, or watched the original anime series).

Can't speak to the rest of VGCats, but I do love me some rarely updated pokemon humor.

whatever you do don't read homestuck. It'ss already sucked in my friends who are now completely obsessed with it. I've luckily remained immune to it's effects but for some reason i can't stop thinking in second person instead of first person.

I'm quite surprised to not have seen these mentioned yet, but...

http://buttersafe.com/ is occasionally too wordy but it has some amazing characters like Punch Monster and Saddest Turtle.

http://pbfcomics.com/ is one of the best comics I've ever read, both in terms of writing and art

http://www.kreepykat.com/ is pretty hit and miss but I think the cat looks hilarious.

So, I am a big fan of Critical miss, Name Game, Penny Arcade and webcomics in general.
I would like to expand my library with new ones. Which ones, fellow escapists, can you recommend?
Thank you.

P.S. I would like to read something about gaming, sub-cultures and world politics.

Lackadaisy cats is awesome. Sharp dialogue, great art style, fantastically realized characters. Definitely worth the time it takes to invest in reading it.

I only wish it updated more frequently. :L

Wow... many of my favorites are already listed. But I'm surprised to not see Howard Tayler anywhere in here, yet.

http://www.schlockmercenary.com

Schlock is an animorph. Okay, a psychotic, possibly sociopathic, animorph*. (read: sentient blob with eyes) He joins up with a mercenary corps called Tagon's Toughs. Hilarity ensues, multiple worlds may or may not have been reduced to ashes (Maxim #1: Pillage, then burn.), and sometimes everybody gets paid, if not paid twice.

It's been around since d*mn near FOREVER, and Mr. Tayler hasn't missed an update of his Monday through Friday webcomic since the beginning. (Far better than most comic artists out on the web.) Read the archive, and depending on your free time, you'll catch up to the current comics in maybe a month. Less, if you can stand the lack of personal accomplishment in other areas of your life. (eating, sleeping, work, etc.)

Cyanide and Happiness. the closest thing to a webcomic written by matt stone and trey parker.

XKCD. a very sciency humor webcomic.

SMBC. a perfect blend of C&H and XKCD.
Definitely the three I would recommend, along with the Adventures of Dr. McNinja. [http://drmcninja.com/]

I'll be damned, no one has mentioned [a href="http://pvponline.com/comic/1998/05/04/mon-may-04"]PvP[/a] yet. That's uncommon.

I think I'll just direct you to some of the other threads like this.
[a href="http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.362682-Your-favorite-webcomic?page=1"]Here's[/a] one of them. I would look for one or two of the others, but I don't feel like going through fifty pages of my comments right now.
