My current favourite is by The Balvenie. The double wood. 12 year old single malt.

Its matured in two casks, a whiskey oak then sherry wood casks that give it a wonderful warm round flavour.

Glenmorangie, very much so. Tastes great, and feels like swallowing liquid velvet that warms your tummy... ^^

I'm surprised at how many [sup/]underage[/sup] drinkers are on this site.
Yep, underage and already experts in whiskey, these folks.

Anyway, Wild Turkey is my poison.

Laphroaig, Lagavulin (For mentalists), Highland Park, Jura, and Macallan are all very good malts.

The first two are a bit extreme in flavour, so you might want to start with one of the latter ones if you're a starting whisky drinker.
Ooh, I second Lagaluvin. I'm not a whiskey drinker, but that stuff is goooooood. (Does this mean I'm a mentalist? Confused now...)

...Though not actually whiskey. Plus it's foul. Then again, I'm quite fond of Montezuma Gold Tequila, so I'm hardly one to talk.

I didn't see it mentioned, but ALL scotch is whiskey. So is bourbon and rum, for that matter.

If you're looking for a top quality scotch whiskey, then Johnny Walker Blue Label is the best of the scotches. If you're after a rum, then Bundaberg Overproof is your best bet. For bourbon, I'd recommend either Wild Turkey or WT: American Honey.

Geez, not hard to tell I work in a grog shop, is it?

Yea I wasn't sure, but I thought I'd throw it in there
