Recommend me an under-rated gem.

I haven't pulled my gamer pants on in a while and that's largely because most of the high-end games these days suck complete donkey. Let's have a little bit of fun shall we?
Recommend me a game you know which you think is actually worthwhile but not widely known about, or at least didn't get the right attention.

I'm dying here guys, I have hours to burn and not enough fuel.

In good spirit I'll throw out a few.
My highest recommendation goes out to The World Ends With You on Nintendo DS, a heavily story based game that throws convention of JRPG combat out the window. The plot and setting are the best parts in my opinion but the combat doesn't get boring, and it's not turn based, so if you're as batty crazy as I am give it a shot.
I may also have a mancrush on Joshua but that's for my therapist to find out.

Lately I haven't been getting games that are so much "gems" so much as fucking dirt cheap.

I don't care if you don't like Shadowrun, or if it betrayed the original setting, or any other fanboy bullshit; I paid $5 for it, and was highly satisfied.

Under $10 I would recommend:
- Kameo: Elements of Power
- Tomb Raider: Legend
- John Woo Presents Stranglehold
- Shadowrun
- Conan

Also if you like to tinker and customize I would recommend Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, occasionally I'll boot that up just to dick around the Test-o-Track with improvised "vehicles"

EDIT: Those are all Xbox 360, which is my prominent console right now due to lack of money for PS3 and lack of dedicated video card in my laptop.

For the DS i highly reccomend Super Robot Taisen OG Saga:Endless Frontier.

Its still about $20-30 but its a great game that will last you a good while.

Fun Gameplay, good Art Style, likable Characters, interesting Story, and some amazing music make it a must for anyone who has a JRPG collection on the DS.

if you have an xbox 360 there are some pretty cool classic Xbox titles out there (just make sure they are backwards compatible) :

Otogi : Myth of Demons
Psi-Ops The Mindgate conspiracy
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance I & II
Jade Empire

For PC you can get :

Freelancer (somehow, idk if there are legit copies anymore unfortunately.)
Deus Ex (not underrated but if you haven't played it you should.)

I can't think of any more at the moment, but I may add more as I think of them.

On the note of N64 and Banjo Kazooie:Nuts and Bolts - try Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie, the originals not the new one that ultimately failed (sorry if you liked it). Also if you can get your hands on a copy of Space Station Silicon Valley, it is probably my favorite game of all time. GOD I love the N64...

Also Deus Ex, while not underrated, is tons of fun.

Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Gate, its a turn-based strategy game like X-com, but you play as Ultramarines. The only way I have found it was with 3 other Warhammer games one being Final Liberation.

Freelancer. It's a great space combat game with an excellent story, superb(for it's time) graphics, and a huge modding and multiplayer community.

Everytime I see your avatar i want to play Disgaea, thank you :)
Thank the Escapist, it's one of their default avatars :)

I still haven't finished the original, because I'm doing a lot of side things like Item Worlds and the like. That game takes a lot to get through, but is really fun.

OT: I will add Disgaea to my list of recommendations. PS2 version is like $20 right now, and their is also a version for the DS and PSP.
