Hunchback of Notre Dame? Happy ending? ...How?
That's not really the point of the statement.
Just felt a bit left out with the rest of the others. I like every single one, but the two placed so close together just confused me.

At least it's a better ending than the book though...

Stalker - Post-apocalyptic/sci-fi. Compelling story, very atmospheric.

Stone of Destiny - Adventure/drama/comedy/heist/crime/kind of historical film. Great characters and well-told story. Very underrated film that manages to be a bit of everything.

In the Mouth of Madness - Horror/thriller. One of the good Stephen King adaptions. Really good actually, if you're into this kind of thing.

The Butterfly Effect - Thriller/mystery. The story itself is great, save some odd plotholes.

Jacob's Ladder - Psych. horror/thriller. My favourite film of all time. Great story, very creepy.

Fallen Angel - Mystery/film-noir. Old 40s film. Compelling plot, and very well-made for the time.

The Quiet Earth - Sci-fi/drama/mystery. Very interesting film with a unique story, save some dated production values.

That movie made me so sad. I'd still watch it though.

Ah, movies.. Clue, Murder by Death, Malice in Wonderland, any movie made from the Terry Pratchett books, Pan's Labyrinth, The Odd Couple, Hibernatus, The Apartment, Stranger than Fiction.
that movie had always intrigued me, but i have never watched it.

What Terry Pratchett movies do you recommend?
I've watched all of them and they stick close enough to the books to make them all more enjoyable than average. In the order I liked them most it would be Hogfather (it has Death in it voiced by Ian Richardson) > Colour of Magic > Going Postal. The last one wasn't as good as I expected but it was still fun to watch.

Edit: there are also cartoons like "Wyrd Sisters" and they're pretty much word for word after the books but they're not that good. Maybe because I imagine Granny Weatherwax differently. If you read the Johnny Maxwell series, there are movies after that as well but they're not as professionally made as the Discworld.
Thank you, im watching the colour of magic now on youtube, its quite silly, but it is pretty good.

You don't like action or rom-coms, yet you though Scott Pilgrim was awesome? Not denying its awesomeness, just seems... strange.

Anyway, the only good film I've seen recently that wasn't the ol' SP was Zombieland. Not particularly deep, but genuinely enjoyable to watch.
Because scott pilgrim isn't exactly like American pie, or their's something about mary is it?

If you don't mind reading subtitles you should watch Moonchild. It's very good, though depressing at points. And you should give Unforgiven (the Clint Eastwood western) a shot.

I guess I can recommend these. They're the only films I seem to come back to:

The Abyss
The Thing
The Departed
The Bourne Ultimatum
The Shawshank Redemption
The Usual Suspects
The Iron Giant
Galaxy Quest
Fight Club

I just realized most movies I watch have the title "The + random thing".

Fight Club
A Clockwork Orange
The Butterfly Effect (The first, the second is shit)
Donnie Darko
Inception

The films I have been looking at is the Millennium series (are those films any good?)
Since no one else has chimed in on this, I saw the first film in the series (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) recently. From the perspective of someone who has read the book, it was a very good adaptation. From seeing my stepfather's reactions having not read the book, it seems to be a good mystery with intriguing complex and well drawn characters.
Here are some other good foreign films. There is a lot of good non-English stuff out there.
I recommend:
City of God
Black Book
Carlos The Jackal (it's in three parts)
Mesrine (in two parts)
A Prophet
36 Quai des Orfèvres

Good English language stuff:
Eastern Promises
Transiberian
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight
No Country For Old Men
Most of Tarantino's stuff
Inside Man
All the old Scorsese stuff; Taxi Driver, The King of Comedy, Casino, Goodfellas.
Insomnia

For something very British, In The Loop is a very good political satire based on the series The Thick of It.

Happy watching mate.
