Homeworld 2. Best sci fi space RTS ever.

You have a good taste for RPGs.

I also recommend Tie Fighter and Republic Commando. Probably the furthest from space fantasy star wars can get.

You could also try Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War.

Well it is sci-fi and a damn good game. So yeah, STALKER.

Is STALKER SciFi? I guess. Gauss Guns, Telepathy, Mutants. Yep, sure seems that way. Survival Horror Science Fiction.

Dudes, the guy already said he has played the Mass Effect series.

Try out the Perfect Dark series if you haven't yet. Yes, Zero isn't nearly as good as the original (now available on X-Box Live for 800 Microsoft points), but hey you can get the collector's edition for five bucks USD, so not a bad deal.

If you like RTS, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is good... Not so much Dawn of War 2 but the first ones are good.

Dead Space, it has horror elements, but for me, it's more of a "third-person action" game.

Dawn of war 2, star wars battlefront (some very fun splitcreen there!), metro 2033 is good, ummm oh ya AVP, and I guess splinter cell is kinda scifi.
