So it's my turn to play whatever music I want at work tomorrow and already I've had people moaning not to play any 'Mosher music' although I'm more of a Foo Fighters, Nickelback etc fan to be honest.

So after having a word with the manager he's told me to make up a cd full of heavy metal just to wind everyone up, the only catch is it can't have any swears in it that are easily heard or repeated too much since we have customers occasionally walking around.

So Escapists, could you give me some heavy, screamy, fastpaced crazy music that won't offend too much in order to help me stick the finger up to my colleagues?

You could try Iron Maiden, I suppose. They have only one song with swears, if I remember correctly (it's Holy Smoke).

AC/DC is mostly on par with what you'll hear in rap songs and is generally fast paced - it does have some swears and some...not swears

Perhaps Ronnie James Dio stuff (including when he was in Black Sabbath) - I don't recall there being much swearing in his songs.

I can't think of many others that easily fit without going through them track by track. Although, you could look into Christian death metal - it should be exactly what you're looking for - they just substitute cursing, blood, Satan and stuff with Jesus and love in the texts.

Well I have to recommend some 3IOB. Advance and Vanquish is my favourite album ever made.

A personal favourite:

The classic:

Oh and the Across The Boiling Sea trilogy of songs staggered out in Advance and Vanquish detailing the life and death of this Pirate Captain is fucking awesome. I don't often recognise good pacing in an album but all the songs seem to be in their right place and aren't just jumbled around with no plan. There's the more fast paced ones then there's some slightly less intense and slower songs staggered out so you don't get that exhausted feeling of one to many WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH's like in many other metal albums.

Also try some Iron Maiden because their songs are still classics.

Might not exactly meet your criteria, but everybody should be aware of the Truckfighters:

Sorry if any of these recommendations don't fit, but hey, I'll give you some of my personal favourites.
Sabaton mainly do stuff themed around War, mainly WW2. Bit cheesy for some, but I love it.
You've probably heard of Black Sabbath before, but try them out, they're great. Good old school rock.
You've probably heard of System of a down, and this is the lead singer making a solo effort, which is pretty damn great, though it doesn't, honestly, sound much different from his work with SOAD.

Well there is Strapping Young Lad, but most of there stuff has at least some swearing.

I personally am a fan of ...And Oceans, which I'm sure you're coworkers won't enjoy.

Gojira would probably work pretty well.

If you're boss doesn't mind you playing clearly satanic music, then The Project Hate would be a good choice.

This is all leading up to the band that is sure to piss off everybody that isn't a serious metalhead. I give you Gorguts.

Well since I've read somewhere that Iron Maiden doesn't have ONE curseword in any of their songs (not live versions :p) I can give you that, I'll throw some songs into the mix in the spoiler box just below :)

If you want more stuff I listen to just quote and ask :)
But generally in these metal threads many seem to be on the same wavelength with me so I'll expect some good bands and music to pop up in this thread :p

I have just the thing....

A steel girder.

It's a pretty heavy metal, may need a couple of friends to help you lift one.
I came into this thread thinking, "Surely someone has made this joke...". Good to see I wasn't disappointed!

I saw that joke a mile off and still laughed.

Thanks guys, will get them downloaded after I've been to lift some heavy metal at the gym. Will let you know the outcome tomorrow :)

Also if you like a Nickelback, they are heavily influenced by Pantera. Bullet or whatever by Nickleback is an ode to Dimebag.

Testament's newest album is pretty awesome.

If you're looking for the more screamy, modern stuff, I've got:

and if you really want to f with them, than

Oh my, those pants are way too tight to crouch in...

Sure, it's heavy, and if you drop it it can be screamy but I don't think it's particularly fast paced. Unless you carry it down a hill. Also, I don't think it's particularly crazy - seems pretty normal to me, at least.

This [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mEGor0LzZE&list=PLNfCjezaFeaNQbd0Du8lD6CoephK_70Ks] is a playlist of prog that I collected from all the suggestions in the last thread I made asking people to recommend songs, there's loads of cool bands in there.

Anyway, since you're going for as obnoxious as possible, here are my recommendations. The selection criteria was either it being hair metal, having cheesy lyrics, or both:

Nothing wrong with a bit of generic metal every now and then.

It's the foundations of metal as we know it.

Without steel girders we would lost in a sea of metal with no direction.

But just for a bit of variety ..... here's a metal predator.
