My favorites are Ocarina of Time, Banjo Tooie, Mischief Makers, and Paper Mario.

I don't think Blast Corps has been mentioned yet. It's stupid fun because the whole plot is that something bad is happening (I can't remember what) and the entire solution is to take tractor-trailers or bulldozers or weird robot suits and arbitrarily demolish random towns

I agree with most of the above and will add Space Station Silicon Valley.
this, it was an amazing game that i'd honestly forgotten about till now. i'd also recommend naboo star fighter, clayfighter, and earthworm jim.
Is Earthworm Jim on N64 I had it on Sega Mega Drive and thought that was the only platform it was released on?
Yeah, there was an Earthworm Jim 64, although I hear it wasn't good.

The lack of "LEgend of the MYstical Ninja starring Goemon" is truly saddening.

I mean...

The game goes from (awesome) Zelda clone, to platforming in that giant robot (Who's on skates and wants to be a pop star in America), to fighting other giant robots in first person!

This is a GREAT game. Seriously, I'll take this over Ocarina of Time.

Also, Killer Instinct Gold, and 1080 Snowboarding are also fantastic games, but Goemon. Get that.
Oh lawd, that theme song, it's everything that's awesome about 70's anime. I need to go watch some ancient Japanese cartoons now.
Might I recommend almost anything by Tatsunoko Productions?
Also, for something a bit more modern (90's), King of Braves GaoGaiGar!
It's funny that you mention Tatsunoko, because the original 70's Casshern is what first came to mind when I heard the music. I need to find the rest of that series -- Youtube has the first episode, but not the rest.
I've only seen Casshern Sins on Toonami, I'd love to see the original. I'd also like to see more than just the first couple of eps of the 2008 Yatterman show.

Can't help you with Yatterman, but <youtube=a_-ClbqNKQk>

Here's the first episode of the original Casshern. Enjoy.

Edit: and now you know why that themesong made me think of Casshern. Man were 70's anime themes badass.

Edit Edit: also, no kidding Earthworm Jim 64 wasn't very good. It was so bad that it killed the franchise, which in its heyday was big enough to get a Saturday morning cartoon.

Final Edit: By the way, that episode is all I've seen of the original Casshern, and I only found out about the series through Casshern Sins. I have no idea why I'd never gotten into Tatsunoko's stuff before that, though. They're awesome.

I would suggest these:
Perfect Dark. Easily one of the BEST shooters on the N64. Even compared to Goldeneye.
OgreBattle 64. Terrific story, just make sure you set aside some time, cause itll suck you in.
Ocarina of Time. The definitive Zelda game to many. Its a must have.
