Last night i joined the glorious PC master race with my ASUS gaming computer. Now I already have Guild Wars II, and I've been given a copy of DOTA and Torchlight II, and I'm prolly going to be checking out League of Legends.

I'm also going to be picking up Mass Effect 3 at some point and Skyrim, but what else is out there that I could throw at my pc?

to give you some idea of its specs, it can run Crysis 3 at the recommended specs (actually slightly above) and the only thing preventing it from running it at full power is my video card.

SO...whatcha got for me?

The new DmC is at its best on the PC. It's a brilliant port with a better framerate, if you have a controller, then it's the best way to play it IMO.

-XCOM: Enemy unknown

-Mount and blade: warband
-Portal 1 & 2
-Company of heroes
-Dawn of war + Expansions
-Dawn of war 2 (Retribution expansion pack to avoid games for windows live :p)
-FTL: Faster Than Light
-Half life 1 & 2 (+ HL2 Ep1 & Ep2)
-Team fortress 2
-The walking dead (The point and click adventure one)
-Katawa Shoujo (Visual novel with so many feels :3 )
-Trine 1 & 2
-Killing floor
-Amnesia the dark descent
-Penumbra series
-Finally Baldur's gate if you aren't bothered about graphics :3

May I suggest four games?

Both Witcher games. If you have any interest in action RPGs, you owe it to yourself to play them. The first is a bit of an acquired taste, so you may not like it. The 2nd game is generally well received among most people though, so you're more likely to enjoy that one. I consider both modern classics myself. If you try the first one, be sure to play the Enhanced Edition. It's much better than the vanilla.

If you have any interest in strategy and war games, Rome: Total War. It's a brilliant game that merges turn based strategy and battles on an epic scale (as far as video game scale allows). In my opinion, it's the best in the series, which is why I recommended it. I think Medieval II is a tad more popular, but I thought its battle mechanics were terrible.

Gothic II. Another action RPG, however this one is a little dated. Way back in the early 00's, its graphics are poor (though still passable) and the animation/controls clunky and stiff. However, it is an amazing classic for cRPGs and one that shouldn't be missed, despite its flaws. I myself, think it has the single greatest melee combat system in any action RPG I've ever seen. It's brilliant.

That's a few of my personal favourites and "essential" games. Whether you heed my recommendations is entirely up to you, but I hope they help in some way.

Seems like you have a fairly powerful machine. So in that case I recommend that you try out PlanetSide 2. You only risk the cost and time of the download, since it is free to play. PS2 is a MMO shooter in a fairly large environment. It's unique in the sense that no other franchise has attempted this scale in a real-time shooter.

Mark of the Ninja is a very polished 2D stealth platforming game. It's good for about 8 hours of gameplay in the normal mode, with a new game+ mode and some goodies for the perfectionists. The price is low and it's very good value for money.

If you like Strategy games I'd recommend either Civilization 4 or Civilization 5. It's a 20 year old franchise that have influenced conputer gaming in many ways. Both games are best with their respective expansion. Opinions vary about which one is the best.

RTS games is another PC speciality. Some of the best are Company of Heroes and StarCraft 2. CoH will soon get a sequel so maybe the original can be bought at a discount. SC2 is getting its first expansion in a few days.

MMOs are also unique for PCs. The market is getting a little weary at the moment, but there is a huge variation of titles. My best recommendation is to check out http://massively.joystiq.com/ for some good gaming journalism specific to MMOs.

For old games and some indy games http://www.gog.com/ is worth a visit. Much of the best PC gameplay was crafted in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Well DmC is functional and all that but content really isn't up there, wait for at least a 50% price drop.

If you enjoy multiplayer and got some spare download speed then:
- Tribes Ascend (huge arena jetpack skiing FPS)
- Hawken (mech combat FPS)
- Star Conflict (space sim arena combat)
- World of Tanks (WW2 era tank combat almost-sim)
- War Thunder (WW2 era plane combat)
- Blacklight Retribution (CoD in a sci-fi suit)
- Planetside 2 (Battlefield 3 x1000)
First 6 being free to play arena match "MMO", and Planetside being a full on "everybody in the same world" MMO.

I could always recommend fallout to you, any of them aside from 3, which is awful.

also there is some people going around saying things like "man fallout brotherhood of steel sucks", don't listen to them, they're lying, there's no game called fallout brotherhood of steel, they're just making this game up.

also if you want an mmo id highly recommend vindictus, great game with a pretty great community, unless shiggydiggy gets bored that is.

I'd link my Steam game list but there are a bunch of recent acquisitions I barely played.

What styles do you like? I could recommend RPGs, action/fps, Strategy games and Adventure games

Antichamber. One of the few first person puzzle games that doesn't feel like Portal, but worse. Lots of brain-bending stuff in there. I highly recommend it.

The Binding of Isaac. It's a mix of Legend of Zelda, a rougelike, and your worst nightmares. I've put way more hours into it than most of the other games I own. A fantastic, unique game.

The Stanley Parable. It's a free source mod (although you don't need any source games to play it). It will take you an hour or so to get through all the endings. It will be one of the most memorable gaming experiences you have ever had. Check it out right now.

Metro 2033. It's a first person shooter with some survival horror elements thrown in. It's very well done, has a great atmosphere, and has quite a few unique elements (the bullets as currency thing in particular is genius). Plus, it looks gorgeous.

Basically every game Valve has made. The Half-Life series, Portal series (assuming you haven't already played these) and Team Fortress 2 in particular are worth checking out.

That's all I have at the moment. Although knowing what kind of games you usually play would help me give you some better suggestions.

I'd highly recommend grabbing the Desura game client to manage your gaming mods and other games that sometimes come up. I can't say I've ever seen their prices beat Steam or GOG, but occasionally you'll find something that catches your interest. It's a great way of finding full length mods like Nightmare House 2 (the game F.E.A.R. wished it could be), and Cry of Fear. There's also a bunch of custom Amnesia: The Dark Descent campaigns, and just a lot of other cool stuff.

As for other games, I've been having a great time with Hotline Miami, an old school 2D topdown murder fest that takes the face stomping scene from the movie Drive and makes an entire game out of it. Combined with a surreal story, fast paced gameplay, and a soundtrack that will get stuck in your head, it's a game that you really don't want to miss out on.

Company of Heroes is my favourite RTS ever! I highly recommend picking it up.
Since THQ died you can probably get it online for ridiculously cheap.

If you have steam, you should add me!

Warlords Battlecry 3. It's a pretty old game, but if you like strategy games and RPGs this is both of them combined, it's some of the best multiplayer fun I've had.

While there are many fine suggestions in this thread the best has yet to be mentioned: Heroes 3. The greatest turn-based strategy game ever with beautifully aged graphics.
