I've got a PS3, but I think I may have missed some of the best games for it.
Can you recommend me some games that you have enjoyed?
Resistance 3. I'm sorry but that's simply one of the best games of the generation, grab Resistance 3 ASAP you can ge tit pretty cheap these days.

Great story with co-op both split and online, great multiplayer with the same options, great horde mode dlc for a good price, etc.

Lots of replay value and such too, especially with cheats rewarded for intel gathering.

Gonna second a few people here and say Uncharted. Just bear in mind that the original Uncharted isn't nearly as good as its sequels, but it's worth playing all the same.

Also: Killzone 3 if you're into multiplayer. Excellent multiplayer in that game.

And stay away from Skyrim! At least for the PS3...
Gotta say that KIllzone 3 multiplayer is definately excellent, but it's started to dry up lately I can't find many matches with more than 5 players on a team and it falls to a fair few issues.

Mostly to do with being highly campable. Killzone 2 is fucking brilliant multiplayer and has a far better campaign imo but lacks the co-op feature. Not that the co-op is very good though. Tiny FOV makes it a pain.

Go on the PSN and get Tokyo Jungle right now!
If not that (for reasons I can't contemplate) then just about anything else in this thread, 'cause I think we've about covered it.
The Atelier seiries is pretty good too, if you're into JRPGs.

God of War Saga
Jak & Daxter collection
Any Uncharted game.
I'd actually suggest skipping the 'Saga', if you can spend the extra cash.

Several of the games on GoW:S are digital downloads, which is kind of a pain in the ass if you've got limited space.

It's better to grab both 'Collections' and GoW3...if you can.

Do NOT buy a single Fallout or Elders Scrolls game for the PS3, all of them are terrible ports, with freezing/crashing and bugs. Bethesda simply cant develop for that console.
New Vegas isn't bad.
I've only had the game crash ONCE...and it was kind of my fault.
-Trying to grenade spam a group of Deathclaws for shits-n-giggles.

If you don't have a decent enough PC though, or a 360, at least you can still enjoy those good games.

Over here both collections cost 45 Euro and GoW3 30, while the Saga cost me 60 for all of those games combined. Really, what kind of advise is that? Yes a disc would be preferable over digital downloads but as far as I know most PS3's have at least a 160GB HDD which is more than enough.

Also the games that are digital downloads are the two PSP ports, who cares about those anyway?

Ouch...Euro hurt.

You can, at least over here, get them used for a LOT cheaper.
At a local game store I could pick up GoW1/2 HD, GoW (PSP) HD, and GoW3 for around 70-75USD total.
-It's a little extra, but I'd rather have PHYSICAL copies of games if I can swing it.

The PSP games are pretty good, actually.
;)

I installed a 500GB, so I'm not really 'hurting' for space, but not everyone has that option.

Between updates, installs, add-ons, PSN games, and various PSN+ (got it as a gift, and probably gonna renew it) free stuff...
Even my 500GB is starting to fill up.

After my experience with Fallout 3, with its impossible to do DLCs because of the freezing after 15+ MB saves, they will never ever get my money thats for sure.
I mean at first i was like, yeah ok, its still playable, and i just loaded my early 7MB save to finish the last DLC, but then i hear even the Ultimate Edition of Fallout NV has the same freaking problem, with some people having worse then others, and then Skyrim as well.....what? Who cares abot fixing bugs when people still buy our buggy pile of shit right? Why bother. I mean i was defending them for a while but there is a limit.

Assassin's Creed 2 (Brotherhood is good, Revelations was meh but it comes with AC1 for free on the disc)

There are a lot more great games that I haven't listed, but that should get you started.

-Dragon's Dogma
(Best real time action rpg I've ever seen with awesome miniboss and boss fights. Has some flaws, like companions never shutting up and no fast travel, but those can be overlooked.)
-Dark Souls
(Finally a really gritty rpg that's pretty challenging.)
-Disgaea 4
(Disgaea is awesome, no matter what.)
-Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
(uninspired, forgettable characters and 'meh' story, but VERY awesome combat mechanics, level up system and customization.)
-Warhammer 40k: Space Marine
(Just about the most awesome hack and slash I've ever played.)
-Shadow of the Colossus
(Fighting HUGE monsters by climbing on them, plus the visuals...*drool*)
-LIMBO
(Such an awesome indie platformer.)
-Journey
(It's more an experience than a specific game, but still definitely worth it.)
-Assassin's Creed 1/2/3
(It wasn't for me, but I know that the games are really good.)

The games in this second list are either not that good, a niche game, or good but not 'must have' material:
-Skyrim
-Prototype
-Infamous
-God of war
-Dragon age 2
-Brutal legend
-Fallout 3 or fallout NV
-Heavy rain
-Final fantasy 13

Terratina.

> Resonance of Fate

Some less-known games there for you to get. Not perfect, but they pull off their concepts pretty well.
