So...I've got an Xbox 360 and I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to get any sort of multiplayer games(not that I would mind a good game with multiplayer, I would just never use it). I prefer the RPG/Fantasy Adventure and Sci-Fi genres, but I'm open to just about anything other than racing games (which don't really interest me).

Thanks in advance, my fellow Escapists!

Tales of Vesperia (great RPG)

Record of Agarest War (take this one with a grain of salt. I'm in the minority)

Oblivion (a given)

Fallout: New Vegas (great sandbox)

The Bioware games excluding Dragon Age 2.

Alan Wake,
Assassins Creed Series,
Batman Arkham Asylum,
Bioshock,
Borderlands (Many don't think it's any good as a solo game but I do),
Dead Space Series,
Dragon Age Series,
Enchanted Arms (Only JRPG exclusive to Xbox 360),
Fable Series,
Gears of War series (best played Co-op but still solid single player),
Halo series (if you're not a hater, actually give it a go.),
Kameo,
Mass Effect Series,
Metro 2033,
[PROTOTYPE],
Saints Row 2 (not played 1),
Too Human (everyone else on the planet hates it).

It is out for PS3 as well

Exclusive JRPG I would vote for Lost Odyssey
Lol what, the box lies. It's got the whole [ONLY ON XBOX] thing on it.

Oh well, Infinite Undiscovery is actually an exclusive too apparently.

I'd definitely have to say for me (as I'm more of a single player kinda gamer) that Red Dead Redemption and Saboteur have been the most fun for me out of all the games I've played in the last year. So I will go with those for my recommendations :)

Everything by BioWare (Mass Effect 1 and 2, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2, Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic) fits in Sci-Fi or Fantasy.

You can play the original Fable on a 360 as well. Just avoid Fable 2 and 3.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom

Two Worlds II

Well, I was going to recommend Tales of Vesperia and Oblivion but it appears I was beaten to the punch. Honestly, just head down to your local game store and see what is on sale, the 360 has the largest library of the current generation console. You WILL find something that interests you if you're willing to spend half an hour browsing.
If you have acces to XBLA, definately get Torchlight if you haven't played it on PC yet, great game worth at least a single play through.

For RPG and SciFi, you won't get any better than the Mass Effect series.
For Action/Suspense, I really enjoyed the Dead Space Series
Also Action, Batman AA is amazing.
For Horror/suspense, Alan Wake, Highly under-rated game.
For general adventure/sandbox fun, Assassin's Creed is (IMHO) one of the best new IP's to be released this generation. The games get progressivly better with each game.

Why, yes. Yes they have. Go with that. Other suggestions on here are good too, I just had to make sure Alan Wake was mentioned. Awesome game. Get the DLC chapters for it too.

Halo is a good choice... especially halo 3: ODST. The firefight game mode is fun even though it is actually a multyplayer game mode it is also fun on your own.

But if you like RPG's i really recommend Oblivion (just like so many others). Also Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vagas are great.

You should also try assassins creed (the first one, that one is the best). It is cheap and fun!
