I've been really into crime drama type stuff for a while now, but I'm starting to exhaust the supply available. Investigating, lawyering, even some committing, please put down your favourites and I shall endeavor to watch them, or rewatch if it's been a while and it's really good. I did search box this, but the only threads that came up were general ones which weren't very "committing felonies" heavy. And remember, "Are you a crime? I nal. A criminal?"

I'm pretty sure we'll see some "The Wire" and some "Breaking bad " posts.

I'm starting Fringe and I like it so far. Cops with supernatural conspiracies.

A touch of cloth? For some dumb reason I pissed myself at this programme when I watched it with a mate, I'd like to know if others did.

Erm, if you ain't looking for a comedy I am of no help to you.

Breaking Bad is one I can't recommend enough.

I'm currently watching the first season of The Shield and I'm loving that too.

Like some people already mentioned, The Mentalist.

But to add something new, I would suggest Rookie Blue or Flashpoint.

Rookie Blue is about as it suggests, Rookie Police officers. The show can get pretty intense and gritty, but also has a light side with the friendship and relationships the characters make towards each other.

Flashpoint feels very realistic and is about a SWAT team that deal with mostly hostage situations and other dilemas of a certain time crisis.

Thanks for the suggestions! These have all gone in my notebook for checking out, looking forward, some of them sound really cool. I'm a bit disappointed in myself having not heard of many of these, but every day is a learning experience!

It's so stupid, but I can't stop! I had to watch the first two episodes twice just to catch all the crazy background stuff that I missed. Nothing was funnier than walking into the clear boards.

I'm glad you had a similar response to me, I feel like an idiot for laughing but I can't help myself. All this likely proves is that we are both idiots :)

Dexter, it's about a vengeance/justice killer working for the police. It's brilliant!

I'd say copper on bbc america or just bbc it just started and it's about an irish cop in new york around the end of the civil war, justified also springs to mind it's about a marshal who's quick to shoot.

None others spring to mind at the moment.

EDIT

Dexter is also good but it's more from the serial killer killing for good side rather than the cops but it's still wonderfully dark and fantastic.

White Collar, although maybe not quite what you're looking for if you want to watch the felons commit the crimes, but I decent mix of that and the crime solving part.

I'm just coming from a discussion about Breaking Bad. Do that one.

Dexter is possibly one of my favorite shows ever too.

Someone pointed out Monk, which isn't a bad choice, but it does get a little repetitive. Thankfully the show acknowledges that and then makes fun of itself for it. It's not something to be taken seriously.

If you wanna try and pick up Hell on Wheels on AMC. This new season is about friends, now on the opposite side of the law.
