I'm going to be a party pooper and say that you shouldn't go with Portal 2. The co-op has very little replay value. Hopefully the fans won't rip me to shreds.

Borderlands is a good choice.

Portal 2, Gears 1 and 2, Halo games, Resident Evil 5, Borderlands, CoD WaW?, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, Rock Band/Guitar Hero? Those are all I can think of right now.

Portal 2
Portal 2
Portal 2

Also, another good one, Portal 2

But in all seriousness, Borderlands is always good for a laugh, Left 4 Dead, maybe pick up a communal MMO (World of Warcraft perhaps? I hear it's popular). Perhaps a bit of Darkspore, great team game there, and an RPG.

My wife (was then my girlfriend) was playing Kirby and I was playing Luigi. After effortlessly dispatching the other players it came down to me and her. As per my usual gameplan I jumped around the game map toying with her. She was relatively new to the game and just learned the concept of absorbing your opponents powers.

So she chased me around screaming, "Dammit get inside me!"

I married that girl remember.

Depending on how game savy your girl is, any of the Lego titles are great places to start.
I do NOT recommend going straight for a pretty violent game. I had one gf get over welmed by the people on MW2 online. And I had another (not at the same time of course) stop playing New Vegas after she killed off all of Goodsprings. I guess she didn't expect a concequence for siding with a gang.

But yeah, start on easy, relaxed games where the enemys do not resemble people.
