PS2, that was a hell of a console.
Kingdom Hearts, Sly Cooper, and some Metal Gear Solid will do you just fine.

Then please note that "something sony will never amount to" heavily implied that.mega48man said:i never said PS3 was shit.
PS2 had a ton of great games. Have you played some of the recommendations people have been throwing out? Graphics aside, they're amazing. Sure no one's making games for it anymore, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't treat yourself to some great games of the past.mega48man said:but i'm not here about that, i'm here about PS2 vs. new gen. i mean come on, if we all had a bunch of money to blow on a console and games which one are you gonna pick? the PS2 or the PS3?
yeah, shadow of the colusses was epic, no doubt, the bully series and GTA were a lot of fun to. but the PS3 can run PS2 games (right? unless there's that thing you need to install to play them or something) but on top of that, why play san andreas when you can upgrade and get GTA4 episodes from liberty city? does it concern me that the majority of recomendations of discussion are on GTA? a little yes, but that's b/c it's fun!z121231211 said:Then please note that "something sony will never amount to" heavily implied that.mega48man said:i never said PS3 was shit.

Actually, no. The PS3 does not have backwards compatibility, which is very, very unfortunate. And there is no emulator, Sony had the chance to but decided not to go with it. I think they may have had an addon, but it doesn't appear to exist anymore.mega48man said:yeah, shadow of the colusses was epic, no doubt, the bully series and GTA were a lot of fun to. but the PS3 can run PS2 games (right? unless there's that thing you need to install to play them or something) but on top of that, why play san andreas when you can upgrade and get GTA4 episodes from liberty city? does it concern me that the majority of recomendations of discussion are on GTA? a little yes, but that's b/c it's fun!

I'm looking for some good games I have not had the pleasure of trying when I was little. Now i'm on the search for more mature games. (Or titles that slipped right by me without my attention.)mega48man said:now how the hell am i trolling? look, the PS2 was last gen, i don't care if you're just looking for a cheap game for shits and giggles, but they just don't make games for the PS2 anymore. if you already have a 360 or PS3, then you know why i said it (and please, just spoil yourself and buy a game for one of those consoles if you already have either console) but as for PS2 games, sorry bud, there just aren't any PS2 games that haven't been replaced by newer releases for newer consoles.
