I nearly finished a playthrough of Shadow of Chernobyl some time ago, but with only a couple of game hours left suddenly lost all motivation to play it. It's a good game, but at the same time burdened by an alarming number of defects which seriously detract from the experience. I want to get back into it, but I'm not sure if I can stand the vanilla game again, and I've heard that there's a great modding community out there. Does anyone have any good suggestions for mods? I'm looking for major overhaul packages, rather than mods which just affect small parts of the game. if it helps, my main gripes are the interface, the dialogue/language in the game, the lack of repairs and the obscene toughness of the game's human opponents, but graphics upgrades/more weapon variety etc would also be welcome.
