I'll second (third?) the mentions of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, and add the Codex Alera series by the same author (book 1 is Furies of Calderon). Romans with bending, wolfmen, telepathic yetis, and other fun stuff, all in one series. :)

I rather enjoyed The Last Stormlord trilogy from Glenda Larke. A very well realised world with some rather interesting stuff going on in it.

I actually don't know who the authors you mentioned are, but my favorite fantasy author will always be Terry Pratchett. Most of his books are comedy fantasy, but if you're looking for a more serious one, his newest, The Long Earth, is incredible. It's more sci-fi than fantasy, but it's a blend, most of the sci-fi is discussion of evolutionary speciation events. It's a book that I've read through three times since I got it this summer.
Read it, it's great.

My favorite fantasy books are the Diskworld series by Terry Pratchett. He has an interesting take on fantasy creatures and mixes in a good amount of dark humor.

OK - since a lot of the more well-known titles have already been recommended (and repeatedly so) - let me have you try these on for size:

Imajica - Clive Barker
The Damnation Game - Cliver Barker
The Great and Secret Show - Clive Barker
Weaveworld - Clive Barker
The Hellbound Heart - Clive Barker

Enjoy.

Further recommendations for The Wheel of Time. Been reading that series for ten years now, and waiting impatiently for the last book to come out in January.

Also, you might consider some of Terry Brooks' Shannara series. The first book (Sword of Shannara) is pretty much "Lord of the Rings, condensed to one book, with Celtic mythological influence instead of Norse," plotwise (not writingwise; Brooks and Tolkien are quite different writers), but it's still a good read, and the other two in the trilogy only get better.

Discworld is always a good thing.

And...might not be what you're looking for, but have you read the Harry Potter books yet? They really are quite entertaining.

Try The Belgariad written by David Eddings.

A really great five book fantasy series that was written in the 1980's. It is a lot like the Lord of the Rings type of fantasy series, what with a band of heros on an adventure. He also wrote another five book series called The Malloreon which is a sequel series to The Belgariad.
I could second that, with the caveat that you don't ever read anything else by him. Everything else he's ever done seems to be a very obvious rehash of the Belgariad.
I object, at least in the case of the Elenium. It's a fantasy world with the trademark Eddings' snark, but its setting and overall feel are much different (in more of a pseudo-Europe than standard fantasy world, much darker, with almost a completely opposite theme of destiny). And it's pretty good besides; I'm on my third readthrough.

Haven't read anything past the Tamuli, though. And that would have been better if not for a horrifically anti-climactic ending.

So I'm looking for some new reading. And I was hoping you the Escpaist Public could help. I'm looking for newer stuff and authors. Please don't suggest A Song of Ice and Fire as I've read the first three and found it to be ok. To give you an idea of what I like my current favourite authors are Brent Weeks and Patrick Rothfuss.
Well, rothfuss was going to be my first suggestion, and Brent weeks was up there as well. I'm not really familiar with anything new other than Kingkiller Chronicle, but I would suggest Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind, and Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan.

I can't help if you want newer stuff, but some good, older stuff I can recommend. Garth Nix's Old Kingdom trilogy is a fairly interesting read about a necromancing (shut up auto-correct, I know that is not a word) family.
Alternatively, Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series is also very good.

Dammit, now I'm hungry.

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time epic is being finished off by Brandon Sanderson, and if you haven't read it, you really should. The 13th and final book in the series will probably be out by the time you finish the first twelve epic volumes. I absolutely envy anyone who only picks it up now....when I started reading it 8 had just come out, and I've had to wait patiently for over a decade for the subsequent four. I can't imagine how long fans who picked up the first book when it was first published have been waiting!
Let me put it this way, I was 10 when I first plucked The Eye of The World off of my father's bookshelves. I started reading advanced novels at a very young age, although that one was still heavy going for me at the time. I'm 26 now. I've literally been waiting for most of my life, nearly all of it if one starts counting from the ages I can clearly remember.

Oh, also, the last one is the 14th book, 15 if you count the prequel novel.
Same here! Picked it up when i was 11-12 years old and now 28 year old, waiting for the last book...

Since noone went ahead and offered these, I'll say Warcraft books.
Just about every single one of them. If you've got any relation to Warcraft universe, be it WC1-2-3-WoW, you'll probably enjoy the books. Not to mention most of the books are New York Times Best Sellers. You're welcome.

The Skulduggery Pleasant series, if that fits your idea of fantasy. They're wonderfully written and have all the twists and turns a good fantasy should, along with a good take on sorcery in the modern age and solid action.

If you like Brent Weeks' writing, I would recommend The Gentlemen Bastard series by Scott Lynch. The characters are fascinating and the world building is truly astonishing.

I also HIGHLY recommend The Last Herald-Mage trilogy, Brightly Burning, the Oathbreakers duology, and By the Sword all by Mercedes Lackey. Most of her Velgarth stuff is worth a read, though I admit the last couple series have been a bit on the weak side.
