Hey so I got a laptop and decided to get one that could do some gaming. Its a great laptop, and it can run Crysis on high-very high settings smoothly so performance will not be an issue. Basically, I'm looking for some good PC exclusives to play. (exclusive from the 360 that is)

I haven't at all been keeping up with PC gaming news so I have no idea what I've missed, now I'm looking for something made during this gen, and I mainly like RPGs and FPS/TPSs but most other genres will be okay, although I don't like RTSs or MMOs. Currently I have the Witcher 2, Crysis 1/2, and TF2. Thanks.
Once you cross off the RTSs and MMOs there really isnt all that much left on the PC.
I disagree, I don't play MMO's and I only play starcraft II for RTS's, but almost all my gaming is done on the PC, even though I own every modern gaming system. Many major releases are also on the PC, and I find the variety of low profile games on the PC almost stupidly diverse. The PC is the platform of indie games, many of which are very good and only cost $10 or are actually free.

OT: Try League of Legends!

What about turn based strategy?

I love Civilization 5, even though it ate so many hours I would probably have been better off never buying it.
Also in this vein, the Total War series.

And Starcraft II if you like a little more fast-paced strategy. I know you said you don't like RTS's but there's a reason it's one of the best strategy games ever.
But if he's not into RTS, I think he should try an RTS that's different from most RTS games. Something like Dawn of War (my favorite was Dark Crusade - you can find it real cheap) which concentrates less on resource building and more on brutally slaying tons of enemies.

OP-
There are some games you may have played on the console that are worth getting for the PC just for the mods like San Andreas or Fallout 3.

Try Mount & Blade: Warband. RPG, very different. Bit of an RTS vibe, which is why I love it. Give the demo a shot, it's on Steam.
Magicka.
The Splinter Cell games.
That's about all I've got that hasn't already been said.

OP said no RTS games ...

Off-topic advice: My friends have had problems with gaming laptops overheating in the past. I've seen one graphics card melt due to heat from gaming. Just be careful with it. I recommend on of those laptop rests with fans in it.

On-topic advice: I prefer open world games (Fallout 3, Morrowind, etc) to be on PC. I have also play Mass Effect 2 on both 360 and computer and preferred it on the computer. Other good games include <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_Genius_%28video_game%29>Evil Genius and <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rise_of_Nations>Rise of Nations. Sure they are old but still my favorite games on the PC. I also have fun with emulators.

There are a number of decent F2P games you can try out. You already have TF2...some others you could hop on are APB, Vindictus, and maybe Global Agenda. Alliance of Valiant Arms for a wimpy CounterStrike clone.

Also, free adventure game on GOG.com: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/beneath_a_steel_sky

In what way is torchlight better on PC? Although I have already played and beaten all of those multiplat games you mentioned on 360.

As for the PC exclusives, I was looking for games this gen but Painkiller and Stalker look pretty interesting.
on Fallout 3 and Oblivion, it is worth trying them again with some community mods. look up oblivion mods on Youtube. as for a PC exclusive game, I recommend The Witcher 2, if you like RPGs. Check out some free to play MMORPGs like Vindictus and see if they are interesting to you.

If you are into retro games dont forget the PC is a treasure trove for emulators like MAME and for indies (check out the Doujin scene if youre into japanese games)

As for other games then rather than recommend titles (although the Serious Sam HD games are a must buy if you play M&K FPS') Ild say go buy all the PC exclusives or the games that were originally PC exclusives. Console ports and Multiplats are a mixed bag, while many are better than the console port some devs have a habit of releasing shoddy ports or even buggy and broken games and just take PC gamers money and do a runner without doing any tech support or bug fixing. (PC Deadspace springs to mind)

My advice is dont buy the games at release date instead wait a month or two and go check their tech support forum if they have one or their steam forum page. If the game has some really common bugs (with a high number of posts in) and there has been no patches released or worse no feedback from the dev whatsoever.

OFC many bugs have workarounds or are fixed by the community but if youre the sort of guy who hates all that stuff then dont buy it, or try out the demo if there is one available.

(EDIT You will find that with PC gaming patience is king. As many PC multiplats come out later than the console originals but in most cases the wait is worth it considering how better the game looks and plays. (imo Capcom and Rockstar are usually really good with ports, EA not so)

Also check out Track IR. Also Xpadder or Joy2Key which are godsends when your controller wont work with a game. (i prefer Xpadder myself)

If you like deep / mature games you cant go wrong with Eve Online which is the only MMO worth playing imo

Also get yourself a wired 360 Pad or a reciever for the wireless pad (Ild recomend a wired pad due to the extra lag in a wireless pad). Many PC games only work with a 360 controller (goddam MS!)

(edit) OH and wanna improve your typing? find Typing of the Dead

Well this thread was a fail,99% of the games mentioned on here ae a multiplatform game, an RTS, or MMO. Hmm PC has a lot of less than I thought it did :/

Well thanks for the suggestions, and clearly nobody read that I said I already have the Witcher 2. All I can currently think of is STALKER right now, but it looks pretty cool.

If you are looking for that brand new AAA PC game thats exclusive to the platform im sorry you will be disapointed. The western gaming industry isnt like that, its all multiplats as all the best PC games eventually get snapped up for console. The only thing thats by and large free of this is RTS and MMO.

PC gaming atleast for 95% of bigger budget games is all about playing the same games as console but having a better experience especially if you play FPS with a mouse and keyboard (add track IR and youre golden).

There is the odd AAA indie / B rank PC exclusive, I recommend you check Steam (especially in the Adventure bracket) and the other sites.

Also check out GOG many of the old classics are there

Other to add to your list

Arma2
System Shock 2
Theif 1 & 2

Only game I can think of this Gen, that's PC exclusive, that you don't have, and is worth having has been mentioned. Minecraft.
Hate to burst your exclusivity bubble, but Minecraft won't be a PC exclusive for long... [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110678-E3-Minecraft-Coming-to-Xbox-360-With-Kinect], though, OP, I would still recommend getting it on PC because apparently mods make the game much better.
Problem with Minecraft (though it's good point it's OS-independent, so it'll run WINDOWS (not "PC"), Linux & Mac (both other ~PC~ OSes as 'PC' means Personal Computer, which is a bunch of hardware that isn't (technically speaking) slaved to any particular OS)) is that it can and WILL take up over a gigabyte of RAM due to the way it's coded within Java to run on any Operating System you toss at it. So unless you know how to limit the RAM amount it'll use to (say) 512MB (half-gig), you'll be wanting to run it on a system with 2GB or more of RAM.

For something different on PC now you need to be looking at Strategy games or sims, they still live on PC. Total War is good and isn't really an RTS. Civ V is awesome and there are loads of other strategy games.

Secondly, FPSs. Any of them. Mouse and Keyboard (not trackpad) are unquestionably superior for FPSs. And you don't have to pay to play online.
