Anyone played any good games that play like Runescape or Puzzle Pirates?
I'm trying to kill time with a good MMO.

well i've never played puzzle pirates, but runescape is not good. boring, yes. grinding up your ass so far it comes out your mouth, then loops around to go back up your ass,yes but good, no it's morly a freer version of WoW, which is accualy a good thing for the company who makes runescape.

Depends on what kind of game you like.

If an effective free2play diku-derivative is what you're looking for, give Runes Of Magic [http://us.runesofmagic.com/us/index.html] a try.

If you like MMOGs that are essentially a bunch of puzzles, like Puzzle Pirates is, you might want to try Free Realms. Granted, Free Realms' theme is fairly tooth-rotting, and some of the puzzles are about as challenging as a crib toy.

I'm not sure what the appeal of Runescape is, in particular, other than being a free-to-play open source mess.

Atlantica [http://atlantica.ndoorsgames.com/center/default.asp] is a great game for being free. Very unique game mechanics, plays out like Final Fantasy.

Look up a little game called Dofus, MMORPG from a french developer that plays like an online version of Final Fantasy Tactics. I got way into it back in the day.

The best MMO on the market right now is World of Warcraft, but that's not saying much.

Hopefully The Old Republic will live up to expectations. That's what I'm waiting for.

What I'm generally looking for is one I could play via internet browser, since I'm away from home.

The game should have a skill system, like the more or better you do at something, the faster or show how much you've acomplished.

The game should also have clothes to buy.

And at atleast it should have some type of PVP like, fighting, minigame.

That certainly cuts it down a bit.

Somebody recommended Dofus [http://www.dofus.com/en] - it's a browser-based game that has a fair amount of what you're asking for here. [That's the only one I really played - though I play a lot of games, rarely do I play many solely browser-based ones (unless it's a simple-but-cool flash game, like these kinds of games [http://www.kongregate.com/strategy-defense-games]).]

A little bit of google searching found some other good options:

http://games.bbgsite.com/games/zomg/
http://games.bbgsite.com/games/aqworlds/

This site appears to be all about cataloging browser-based online games: http://www.galaxy-news.net/

Still, new ideas are open for the post, I'm always open for new games to try once I get back.

This.

Personally, I went for the Pastamancer class. Been playing this game off and on since '05.

Same, although I've only just started. Still loving it though.

Seconded! Although the limited number of quests per day is annoying. Still, it's free and it's fun and what more could you want than that?
