Well, Escapists, I'm currently walking around my house wearing a knee brace from a recurring issue with my MCL (Median Cruciate Ligament), and the danged metal hinge in the knee brace keeps squeaking. It's rather annoying, but when my knee gets like this, I have to use the knee brace.

That got me thinking, any of you have recurring injury issues or had a major injury that causes you occasional annoyance?

I have never had even a broken bone, but if I keep lugging my backpack that weighs roughly as much as 12 babies to and from school, then my back will be as good as dead.

I've never broken a single bone or ever had a serious injury...

I feel like one is always around the corner, and I've had an unholy amount of close calls and situations where things could of or should of gone horribly wrong...

I broke my leg when I was 3 after jumping off a shead, nasty spiral fracture. Whenever it is damp or wet It feels like there is ice wrapping itself around my leg.

After a nasty car crash last year where a car and a bus went into the back of us (me in the back) i often get nasty pains and aches in my back and shoulder blades where the impact was, very nasty.

got a very nasty scar on my middle finger which was caused by a knife which I grabbed to stop myself being stabbed, finger and hand was pritty messed up, doctors said I was lucky it didn't get cut clean off.

Other than that not much, Not exactly been lucky though have I, lol.

Oh where to start (I'm a goalie in hockey) I have a bad back, knee, ankle, and jaw. All from hockey. I'll be 40 and paralyzed at this rate.

Ya, for some reason whenever I move my left foot around after it was sitting still for a while the left side of my body loses most of its coordination. Not sure what's causing it.

My left arm isn't as flexible as my right arm ever since I broke it.
Now you mention it, I broke both bones in my arm when I was 8, It doesn't hurt but they set it wrong. If I hold both arms up together they look different, its really wierd.

I put my shoulder out through my back after a pretty bad mountain biking accident, this was 2 years ago. I now have a big metal plate in my arm/shoulder. I've lost some of the movement and strength in that arm and when the weather is cold it aches like hell. Really isn't much fun and i really wouldn't recommend it.

Broke my ankle about a year or so ago that still gives me a bit of trouble some days. I have a lot of pain in my lower body, despite never being injured in those areas, and it only started after the damned ankle injury.

A Humvee ran over my foot 2 days before we were leaving Haiti... We didn't even have a working X-ray in country so it took about a week for them to tell me that it had crushed 3 of my toes.

EDIT: Interesting note, thats indeed a Cuban cigar. We all bought a whole lot with the assurances that they would let us take one box home, then with a week left told us that they changed their minds and we had to smoke em or toss em.

I broke my right arm in third grade, tripped and fell on it just so that all of my weight would come down in exactly the right spot and cause a compound fracture. Also, recurring bronchitis makes late spring a real ***** for me.

My left knee still doesn't bend right, but I've dislocated it several times and sprained the living hell out of it 2 years ago.

[small]It's a VERY good predictor of wet or snowy weather though.[/small]

Not to be a total dick, but its medial collateral ligament

I appreciate the correction, I don't think you're being a dick about it.`I mean, I'm no medical professional. But ouch. What do you do that's so hard on your legs?

I sprained my ankles like 5 times over the course of my high school career and my first year at college. One of the many reasons I hate running.

After 8 years of playing football, I managed to never have an injury other than a slightly sprained thumb.
I am very lucky.

Got kicked in the hand while practicing Aikido and it jammed my right thumb an inch into my hand (shattered most of the smaller bones behind it on it's way in). Thankfully it fully healed with no permanent damage.
