Pretty simple, Pokémon players: I want to know your Big Six in the Gen1 games.

Having brought the PokéDex up to 77, I have a lot of possible options, and am still settling on mine.

Captcha: Rent-A-Swag. Whoever's designing these is a Parks fan...

Im not that far into it at the moment, I usually only fiddle around with it about 30 min per day when I have lateshift and theres not anything left to do haha but nevertheless, Im doing Nuzlocke for Leaf green atm...

Area - Moon Mountain
Pokemon - Charmeleon
- Pikachu
- Pidgy

Giving a shout out to Mothra the Butterfree who valiantly got it handed to him against Brock's Onix...poor little bugger had to be sacrificed so I could heal up Charmander..RIP Mothra...

Pokémon blue was the first game I got for my GameBoy (the big ass white and gray ones) so I played it ALOT. Anyway my 6.

Blastoise- I like Charizard and did use him a few times but Blastoise was always my favorite
Alakazam- I love Psychic Pokémon
Gangar- Psychic and Ghost, yes please
Gyarados- Can learn some powerfull water and Dragon type moves and Thunder.
Dragonite- Dragon moves plus hyper beam and can learn fly
Vileplume- Fould very few trainers could beat a toxic/petal dance combo. And the few that could would fall to Solar Beam and/or Mega Drain.

Last time I played I only had Charizard, Vaporeon, and Zapdos as my actual team along with a few HM slaves to fly me around, use strength and rock smash etc.

Usually I trade a Squirtle and Bulbasaur into my game to have all three starters, along with a Dratini, but I think it's actually more fun to just pick two or three Pokemon and blaze through the game like that. Mainly because FireRed/LeafGreen require much more grinding to properly raise a full team unlike the other games. I'm so glad they give us Lucky Eggs in newer games.

I'm currently doing a Nuzlocke save on Leaf Green, and so far I'm in Celadon City with:

Wartortle
Persian
Pideotto
Primeape
Butterfree

Though if I was forced to pick 6 Gen 1 Pokémon I think I'd have to go with:

Persian
Golbat (Crobat if on Leaf Green)
Dragonair
Venomoth
Ninetales
Jolteon

Blastoise
Nidoqueen
Electrode
Arcanine
hitmonchan
dugtrio

with that team I beat out my buddys legendary team. Mewtwo don't work so well after explosion:)the rest were handled by a combo of nidoqueen and blastoise.(the others pretty much were situational and to take hits.)

Pokemon Red was one of, if not the first video game I ever played. It's been years since I last played.

That said, my team was nice and straight forward:

1) Charizard
2) Flash Monkey
3) Cut Monkey
4) Fly Monkey
5) Strength Monkey
6) Surf Monkey

#2-6 ranged in level from twelve to 35ish, depending entirely on when I caught them, because I never once used them in battle. It was all Charizard all the time whenever I got into a fight.

1)Charizard
2)Magneton
3)Onix or Rhydon
4)Dewgong
5)Victreebell
6)Fearow

I hated the psychic types and didn't add them till Gold and/or HeartGold.

I recently started re-playing Pokemon Yellow, so naturally my team looks like this:

* Pikachu
* Charizard
* Squirtle
* Bulbasaur
* Pidgey
* Dux (a.k.a. Farfetch'D)

Not optimal in any way, but I got no choice.
How can I say no to those adorable little things?

My latest run with Pokemon Red got me to bring together a team of 'veterans' and newbies, since I had 5 Gens of experience this time around.

* Charizard (Veteran): My favorite starter of all time, Fire-Flying type, and great for having Fly on hand.
* Nidoking (Newbie): Always wanted to have him in a team, but never got around to him in the old days. A strong Poison-Ground type, with Strength and a lot of heavy physical attacks.
* Raichu (Veteran): I just love Raichu, and I always tend to use it in any Gen 1 playthrough. A very speedy Electric type and great for some flashy sweeping.
* Parasect (Veteran): One word: Spore. Yep, this Grass-Bug type is easy to get early on and makes catching Pokemon a breeze.
* Lapras (Newbie): I always had Lapras around, but I never included it in any of my teams. A solid Water-Ice type, good for Surf (naturally), and very flexible with move sets.
* Mew (Newbie): Mew officially became one of my favorite Pokemon of all time because it is a beast in battles. A legendary Psychic type (completely OP in Gen 1) and its unique move sets make it a joy to have on the team.

Hmmmm pretty easy.

Venasaur: Extremely high utility in debuffs and such, and also is the most fun starter to use imo, grass type usually is.

Primeape: Early access to a powerful fighting type and physical attacker, usually my first catch and will go right through with me with versatile options in rock and ground moves. A touch slow but he was always reliable, and loved doughnuts.

Hypno: Nobody loves Hypno, but Hypno is a cool supporter with a lot of options, and it's fun to use odd creatures.

Tentacruel: Bulky bulky bulky bulky bulky also surf.

Magneton: Great defensive typing, vicious special attack and generally is cool.

Dragonite: utterly arduous to level but once you do he's worth is weight in time down the drain.
