Let's see here.

Red-box is not properly equipped to rent multi-disc games. That is Red-box's fault for sure. To address this issue they have chosen to warn customers that will only be stocking the first disc of these games. Not the best option from the consumer's perspective, but probably the easiest thing for Red-box to do.

Seems like the customer has enough information to make a decision about. If you think that's still a ripoff (and it kinda is) then don't rent. Definitely worth complaining about either way though, just no need for hyperbole just because you didn't get what you wanted.

wait the game is on two disc for the 360... well time to get the ps3 version then, game swapping went out in the early turn of the century.
Nobody likes you :p

OT: Well that sucks. I did find it a bit weird how they put a third of the game on one disc and then the multiplayer. Surely it makes more sense to have the single player on one disc, and then the multi on the other? :/

One could argue that it is the OP's fault for not paying attention but do you seriously expect to be fucked over like this?!
Yes, one should expect to be fucked over wherever being fucked over is possible. This leads to you being pleasantly surprised whenever you don't get fucked over, and much more weary of being fucked over otherwise.
I could write a long paragraph (and I did and may do again) about why that does not work but instead I simply challenges you for 1 day to thoroughly contemplate and I mean thoroughly contemplate every single product or service you use tomorrow ranging from your bed to your toothbrush, your car to your coffee that you buy and the act of buying it, from signing in to work to punching out to take a break, all the way to turning on your computer and establishing an internet connection through your ISP at home. EVERYTHING. (Excluding bodily functions)

This is not a rebuke about the legitimacy of the OP's position but rather your statement about expecting to be fucked over wherever being fucked over is possible. I am taking this at face value as you did not state otherwise. It is clear that this will be one thing that the OP will possibly always read the fine print about for the rest of his(?) life but when you go to rent something why would you expect anything less than what you paid for, a full game? Every movie or game that I have ever rented from Blockbusters gave me every last disk that it came with be it an extension of a game's campaign to the DVD special features and why should anyone expect anything less? What Red-Box is doing does not make any sense, any from a consumer's perspective. There may be legitimate business reasons for why it was not done but a consumer does not inherently know how every business that they rely on works and thus does not inherently expect to be fucked over that way.

If you're specifically told, in advance, "Hey, you're going to get fucked over!"? Yes, you do have to expect it.
But where were you told? Blended with a slightly different font in the games description, (not even at least bolded) a description that many gamers will glaze over because they already have at least a good enough idea of the game they are going to be renting to ignore the description altogether. Additionally one expects a minimum quality of service from many providers, this is not something that would immediately come to mind when milling over said quality of service. You are more likely to be thinking that they might make a mistake and accidentally ship you the wrong game over deliberately shipping half of the available disks.

Again to all you ps3 vs 360 users I specifically said that I own a ps3 and 360(and a capable pc but Max Payne doesn't come out till the 29th)

I'm mad because now that I am half way through the game I can't beat it on my 360 and I don't want to play through it again on my ps3. If there was an actul warning that stood out(like the one they put up when it says it an M game) I would have waited for the ps3.

But no like most times when I go to the redbox I know what I want and try to get out of line as quick as possible for other customers.

Honestly, this doesn't sound nefarious. It's seems more like an oversight than anything else. If enough people make a fuss, it might be they'll be able to correct, but the best thing to do might be to just not offer MP3 on 360 at all.
A really, really dumb oversight. I can't imagine them thinking they could get away with renting out half a game, but to miss out the second disc in this age of gaming is just beyond stupid.

This is something they should get sued over.

I know a lot of gamers are afraid of getting called "entitled" but seriously now, you pay for a game and you deserve the whole game.

Never even heard of this 'Red Box' but I know now that they won't be getting any of my business if our paths ever cross.

The thing I would like to know is why they even put it on redbox, because I've notice that any other 2 disc Xbox game is ussually not available. They ussually only offer the ps3 version like with mass effect 3 an RAGE. Also where do they put all the disc 2's for Max Payne 3? Do they have a giant warehouse full of disc's?
