So I know RDR has only been out a short while, but after finishing it I got to thinking how and when a sequel could take place. I was thinking with RDR showing us the era of the wild west dying, perhaps a sequel could take place in the beginning of the modern era, more specifically the great depression and the "public enemies" era of bank robbing.

Have the character as Jack Marston (John's son), set the tutorial levels in WW1 (he'd be around 21 then) and then have the rest of the game in the late 20s, early 30s. Have the story revolve around him either robbing banks or maybe hunting bank robbers as a reluctant government man. Have both cars and horses, open farmlands and packed cities. Basically a mafia meets RDR.

What do you think? What would you do with a red dead sequel?

Red dead revival. They could kill him off in some DLC then have him come back to life for more western butt kickery.

Sounds like a great game. Grand Theft Auto meets St. Valentine's Day Massacre? Lovely. Awesome game, would be amazing to play and no doubt a massive world with tons of faction possibility. Carve your own gang out of the bullet-riddled corpses of your predecessors? Yes please! But it wouldn't be Red Dead. I dunno.

Red Dead R_____ means Western to me. Perhaps I'm a bit obsessed with the genre in general, but I would still want to see a game identifiable as Western. Hell, I'd settle with just frontier.

....But I would totally play Red Dead Grand Theft Al Capone 2. Definitely.

Reminds me of how brother never EVER says Red Dead Redemption.

I could list about 20 different Re______ words he's said instead of Redemption.

He IS usually very high, but it's still funny.

What spoiler? He has a son, you know that from the start. It's only a spoiler now that you've drawn attention to it, like when someone say "well this is awkward" when it isn't.

Red Dead Remake.

Seriously, I would like a short piece of DLC where you play through a shortened version of the first game. I keep feeling like I'm missing something since I never played it :-/

With the personalities on this site I'm thoroughly shocked that no one has said this yet:

Red Dead Reminiscence, lets you play through the story before the events of RDR so we know fully what went on and playing as the badass outlaws everyone says Dutch's gang was.

I'm not demanding them to pump out a new one immediately just saying that I'd be more than willing to wait a few years for a sequel that is as good or better than RDR.

I'm thinking you'd still have wide open plains and places like the Mexican border, it's just there would also be small clusters of industrious towns to rob. You could have a mission where a traitor is driving away in a car on a winding road and you have to ride, cutting off road to try and intercept.

Red Dead Reevaluation

A Phoenix Wright-ish title where diplomacy is used to settle old grudges in the wild west. During the tutorial stage, you go through the motions to become a notary public: And are rewarded with your official stamp upon completion (similar to getting the starter sword in a Zelda game). From there you legally bind the documents that forge the wild west.

Red Dead Racing

Race on horseback, stagecoach and primitive steam-powered engines across 10+ custom maps with up to 12 players in online bouts. Discover hidden routes through the barn, across the rickety bridge and more. Pick up hot powerups such as the revolver, the infantry rifle, and blue turtle shells (an homage to Sonic the Hedgehog).

Red Dead Revolution X

Inspired by the Midway arcade original, Red Dead Revolution X takes you on a wild ride through the west as you shoot bad guys in a quest to make sure Willie Nelson's great grandparents meet before Time Conservatives put an end to the legalization of marijuana in 2010. For the sake of potsmokers everywhere, including a certain red-headed stranger, blast them fools!

As is customary for Rockstar, all titles will be available separately for $79.99: And if you preorder the deluxe collector's box at $129.99 you will get a free mini poster from Gamestop! You can also go online and purchase additional content, such as the last half of the games for about $25... for each "episodic installment" (of which there will be four).

I think a sequel would do great going back in time. Have a more undeveloped West and have a completely different story. That or keep it in the sameish time period and have a new take on it. I really hope they do what they did with GTAIV and have different views from different characters. Although I am not too keen on playing Seth haha. I think a good story would be to see what the Rebels do after they take their little bit of Mexico. Show a bit more on foreign policy and perhaps throw those government agents down there. There is a lot you can do with what they have already and I am in no mood for a sequel just yet.
