Red Dead Revenge

Where Jack Marston finds every single person that shot his dad back in the day, and kills them in new exciting ways every time =D (except for some of them, as they may have died of old age, as people seemed to only live untill they were around 45-50'ish years old if I'm not mistaken)

It could work?

I really hope there isn't a sequel. I'm enjoying RDR but I wouldn't look forward to another series.

Hmm... well i'd love more westerny goodness, but i'm not sure that they could really top RDR. I mean, a straight western sequel would be cool - but would likely be more of the same. I think DLC for the mean time...

But now that you mention it, a 30s depression era bank robbing, criminal hunting, John Dillinger/Bonnie and Clyde type game would kick serious ass.

How about, Red Dead Revenge, where someone ELSE does it, I hate Jack with every fiber of my being.

Red Dead Redonkulous.

Where nothing makes any sense (it would be kind of like Psychonauts, but without going into peoples brains, just random crazy shit)

Red Dead Rebuttal. An interactive legal drama.
Red Dead Religion. If you add a priest.
Red Dead Rectal exam. Yeah, I think I won't be buying this title.
Red Dead Reading. This title is in book form.
Red Dead Restoration. A game for all interior designers.
Red Dead Rally. 'Cause I love racing games.
Or, thanks to Yhatzee, Red Dead Retarded.

And finally: Red Dead REALLY?

I would like to see the game set earlier in the period, perhaps setting the game around or during the American Civil War.

Also, despite all the fans of the period and regular westerns, I would like to see a somewhat wierder plot. Bring in more, and more overt supernatural elements and such (they were present in this game, but not a major focus).

One "problem" I had with RDR was that it was very stereotypical, it could get away with this because it's pretty much the only game of it's type. I think that if they did another straight "Western", they would wind up recycling the cliques and to do it again it would become almost painful.

I also think the civil war era has potential as you could act as a mercenary and play both sides. It also gives a lot of space for political incorrectness (which I think we need more of). For example I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't be the quintessential "Indian Fighter" in this game. I don't know why, but when the game came out I had visions of being able to head out to villages, scalp natives, and turn them in for a bounty.

Don't get the wrong impression about that, I've worked for two differant tribes, I have nothing against Indians IRL, it's just part of the romance/excitement of the period, and despite being morally bankrupt by today's standards, I don't feel it goes any further than what you see in crime games and such.

Rather than getting caught up in sequels and such, apply the same formula to a different historical period...

Let me play as a morally questionable pirate with a customizable crew and boat

or let me play as a mercenary during the medieval period working for different kings.

The thematic ending to RDR, by my estimation, be all about the decline of the "wild west" and how it's soon to be replaced by a different era. Another cowboy game wouldn't make much sense if it followed chronologically. Another game would be like trying to cram that last piece of pizza down your throat when you're already full and satisfied.

I just hope it doesn't turn out Red Dead Retarded.

That would be Red Dead Regrettable.
