Red dead revival. They could kill him off in some DLC then have him come back to life for more western butt kickery.
So... It'd be The Crow but set in the Old West?

Red Dead Reminiscence, lets you play through the story before the events of RDR so we know fully what went on and playing as the badass outlaws everyone says Dutch's gang was.
I like the title, but maybe it's like this: Jack Marston is a very old man on the verge of death(old age, sickness, etc.) and he decides to write a book about his life after shooting Edgar Ross. What he writes about could be him fighting in The Great War, killing some mobsters that somehow do him wrong, and possibly him getting some girl.

Another idea of that might be: Jack Marston as an old man telling his grandchildren about his life. It's basically the same as the first idea.
So essentially it would be similar in spirit to The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones?

Hell, if we're going that route, Red Dead Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I betcha Rockstar would make a pretty damn good Indy game. LucasArts could use the help.

Although I would like to see a story for Jack where he grows up a little. I mean, hearing that bitchy "WORK YA DAMN NAG!" again and again gets real old, real fast. Maybe a story that follows him through the first world war and depression era USA, ending with the beginning of the Second World War as seen by Jack at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. I don't think any other game has really done a Pearl Harbor segment, and Jack would be alive (albeit a little old) during the second world war, but all in all he's alive during the most tumultuous time in modern history.

Plus, the western theme could continue, because the Country didn't fully urbanize until well into the fifties. Up until then, people were still living in mostly rural communities. Cars weren't all that common outside of cities, and most roads were dirt. The works programs set up by Roosevelt paved a lot of roads and built a lot of things (like the Golden Gate Bridge) which could be incorporated into the game. Maybe have a segment where Jack "settles down" and has a son of his own to carry on the Marston name? Hell, maybe instead of having Jack go to fight in the second world war, he could watch his son get shipped off. It'd be tough, because Rockstar would have to build an emotional rapport between the player and the character, but it'd be possible.

It'd be great too, because with radio you could listen to the news in addition to buying a paper. It could work. And it could be good. Charting his growth from a troubled youth to a fulfilled father and a good man.

Revolution sounds like the best, cause the west is changing with more motor cars and stuff like that?

Red Dead: Firefly

Just add some ships everywhere, a load of deserty western planets, some evil Reavers and go be big damn heroes.
Ha or Red Dead Cowboy Bebop lol

I personally don't need a sequel. I think there are some missed opportunities in this one, but they're not so big that I would necessarily pony up the dough for another western game, no matter how good, cause this scratches that itch for me. I don't really care about westerns tho, so I didn't have much of an itch to begin with.

Missed opportunities in this one-
-pet the dogs with the B button- after finishing my first nightwatch mission I wanted to pet the dog for doing a good job. the B button is used for greetings among other things, so I was expecting it work for this purpose too.
-pony express side missions (timed rides from place to place)
-being able to drag random criminals to jail- I was disappointed that when you catch randomly generated theives and horse theives you only bring him back to the store/horse owner or kill him. I wanted to drag him to jail.

They would have to do a lot more than implement those few features to get me to buy a sequel tho, this game is so good I don't really need another one.

The sequel is already out - it's called Red dead revolver

You play as Jack as you left him at the end of RDRedemption, but the game is on PS2 so it's outdated
That is completely and utterly wrong. Revolver had you playing as Red Harlow and is only connected to Red Dead Redemption in spirit.
Was worth a try :D

Didn't see that. Must've posted round about the same time as you? A futuristic version might work, but d'you think the style of a rockstar game would suit Sci-Fi?

Red Dead Revolution:

Basically everything is becoming modernized; new machinery is being invented, it's infringing upon old traditions, blah blah. So, picture yourself riding through the desert, when on the horizon, you see one of these fuckers walking up:

So you pull out some good old fashioned dynamite, and chuck it at one of it's legs, taking it out.

Also, I'd love to see some Native American folk-lore in the west. You know, your out hunting birds, and a Thunderbird flies overhead, shooting lightning at you, and you take it down with Dead-eye. Or maybe have actual ghost towns, where you have ghost/zombie outlaws attacking you.

But one thing I want to see is more stuff in multiplayer. I'm talking customizeable hide-outs/camps, being able to set up machine gun emplacements, all that stuff.
