Red Dead Redemption was recently released and i was wondering what you all thought of it, whether you finished it or not. If you have, discuss the ending if you want.

Well...

My brother made a snap decision 2 days ago that he desperately wanted a PS3 almost solely on the fact that RD:R has just come out. We ended up going to the local shop-zone-place and compared prices, then I said I wouldn't pay more that $100 because I was still wondering what the point of a PS3 was when we already had 5 PCs and a PS2, so he got incredibly pissed and got MW2 instead. I'm guessing he'll be bored of it in about 10 days.

The lesson: My brother's a dick.

Holy shit, I am near the end, I think and it has been simply amazing. Play it on a big TV if you can. The scenery is amazing, the combat is tight and challenging, the immersion factor is deep. Where it really shines is the random events. It feels like a real world. Plot is really cool too. Just when you think things are getting stale it changes it up well. Characters are awesome too. The main character, Marston, is much more relatable than Niko Bellic, I think.

I've noticed a couple glitches, but nothing that crashed my game or anything. The worst was when I went behind cover and suddenly appeared about 400 ft above the ground. Needless to say, I died. Only seen like, 3 though, so overall pretty seamless.

All in all, I highly recommend. Course, I'm one of those fellows who like deep stories and long games that take a while to start and all that. If you want to feel like a badass cowboy of the west, look no further.

You might want to put a spoiler in the title.

Just finished it last night.

I was kinda pissed how it ended. John getting blown away by what looked like 20 guys was epic, but that's where it ends. There was no closure. What's Jack going to do now? Is he going to seek revenge? Start his own gang? What? I just hope Rockstar will expand on this in some DLC packs.

I really enjoyed this game. The first proper western experience in my opinion.

9.5 out of 10 in my books.
He does.
Go to the train station in Blackwater, and talk to the stranger there.

I'm really liking it. I'm not too far into the story, but I've spent a LOT of time dicking around.

Picked RDR and Alan Wake up today. RDR started a little slow, but as soon as I did the first mission with the Marshal it really picked up and I'm having a blast so far.

I'm probably the only person I know who doesn't like it. It's not bad, it's just they made this huge wonderful world and I can't do everything.

It's like the difference between Saints Row 2 and GTA IV. With SR2 I always had fun. Never a dull moment. With GTA IV I felt like I had to push myself to keep playing it. If Rockstar had focused more on fun rather than stupid crap like bowling, watching T.V., and having friends bug the crap out of you it could have been a AAA title.

The game's amazing when it comes to realism and detail. Just to me, Rockstar once again forgot to add the fun parts. Yeah I can do missions, wander around for random encounters, and go hunting I suppose. But it just feels so empty.

I probably will change my mind about this game. It won't be the first time this has happened. I hated Mass Effect with a passion when I first played it, but then I went back and chose a better class and it's now one of my favorite games of all time.

Then again, the same happened with Dragon Age: Origins and I still can't figure out WTF happened with that one. I spent over 30 hours playing and beating it, yet I still to this day can't decide whether I loved it or hated it. It was an incredibly forgettable game to me.

I have always disliked the GTA series, but I got Red Dead on the cheap and... I love it. It's beautiful, fun and takes itself a little more seriously than GTA. Rockstars best, in my opinion.

This is my new favorite game. I've been playing every waking moment I'm not at work since launch. It's gorgeous, immersive, and fun. And now that all the mp kinks seem to have been worked out, I give it a 9.5.

So much to do... sooo much to do. Only 23 more levels to go til max in multiplayer as well. ^_^

I'm very close to the end and loving it. It's a great game, not perfect but still damn good. The only things that really gets on my nerves about this game are certain glitches that make you have to restart a level all over again.

Example:
At the end of the mission where you kill Williamson, I shot him and the game just stalled. I could pause it like a cutscene, but Rayes and John just stood there doing nothing. I couldn't even skip to return to gameplay.

With the exception of a few game breaking glitches, I love it.

Honestly? It's hitting my senses much like any of Rockstar games are. It comes out bright and shiney and I am in slight awe. I find a few things that really just kick me in the groin, yet continue because I like a few characters, and finally finish it disappointed.

I just checked the spoiler finish, and just shook my head, somehow figuring it was going to end with that type of ending.

Your the one who decided last minute to cheap out on the PS3 and your BROTHER`s the dick? Seriously that's dickish on your part.

I have a very similar opinion to most of the other posters. There are amazing things about this game but glitches as well and the story is mostly good so far but can drag in places. A few of the minigames could have had a bit more time spent in coding them. All in all it's a high quality title. I can't definitively grade it right now as I haven't finished it but I thinks it's about a 9 plus or minus 0.5.

Yeah, the scenery is crazy awesome. It felt like a John Ford movie with just astounding back drops. This game maybe one of the few games that blatantly proves Ebert wrong by being able to visually go head to head with any western I've seen.

I honestly wish he could have seen this game before that whole debacle. I think it would have given him a different opinion.
