So I've bought 7 games in the past 3 weeks, including RF:G which I ordered today.
It's being delayed on the site I bought it from, so I can still cancel the order and get my money back.

What I want to ask you guys about is...
Is RF:G actually good? I mean, I've played the demo for some time now, watched all the movies and I still think it looks "smashing", so to speak, hey-hey, pun intended.

Please post YOUR opinion about this game.
Also, for those who care, my buying list:

-Dark Sector
-The Dishwasher
-Mortal Kombat III
-Wolfenstein 3D
-Black
-Prototype (drool)
-Red Faction: Guerilla

It felt too much like Mercenaries 2, which lost its appeal early in the game for me.

True, but to quote Yahtzee, it could be the shining golden reflection of a pile of piss.

OT: I've played the game at some friend's houses, and it just doesn't seem that appealing.

Skilled Chaotic Fun?
Not only that, this game has actual destroyable buildings in real-time, whereas Assinaries had pre-rendered destroyed buildings.

It's worth it. The destruction is really impressive and it's clearly the only reason why anyone would buy it. "Wrecking crew" is a fun game-mode because of it too.

Haven't played online yet but I don't plan on it either.

Anyway, the missions, the controls, and oh lord the A.I. - well that's pretty bad, but you will probably forget about that because the destruction is so fun.

This also gets better when you get new weapons.

My point is, you can look past all the frustrating things about this game for the sake of blowing things up.

Destruction makes everything better, and what new weapons?
Hopefully something like a Gatling Rocket Launcher with a cupholder or something.

I played both the demos and disliked it, it was bland, boring and heartless.

WOOTZORZ for the hammer.

Seriously dude, get it, infact I just came online from playing it. Its great fun, and theres nothing more satisfiying than smashing both sides of a bridge, lengthways, and watching it completeley collapse onto the people below. Epic. The gunplay is actually surprisingly fun, for a game that revolves around its destruction system, and I love the hammer combat. The Detonatable charges rock :p

the game is just...hours of fun. unless your a really serious gamer who disapproves of fun in a sandbox game, like my brother :/

but really, seeing as youve ordered it, I suggest you play it before all the other games. it aint like Mercenaries at all, its much better <3 The building destruction system is quite epic.

I can't tell one cover based third person shooter with regenerating health from another anymore.

"Wait was that Terminator Salvation? No I am pretty sure that was from Army of Two. Hey thats that level from Uncharted... Or was it Dark Sector."

Seriously, this is getting rediculous.
I agree with you, they are all very similiar. Although ya can tell red faction apart becuase of, the well, TRULY destructible enviroments.

How could the rest be a pile of piss? Its just the demo, but bigger.

knock out one side of a building's supports and it will fall that direction, usually on-top of you], so far i like multi-player though.
You would have to moronically stupid to stand in front of a falling building.

I easily have put 5 hours into playing the demo, rediculous amounts of fun, I will definately be spending 40 or so quid on it, as soon as I have it spare. I am actually in love with the hammer. Such a feeling of satisfaction when you sent a bulding crumbling to the ground with precise hammer hits. Will it get old? of course it will, but so does everything. Sure the game looks like it has its flaws, but its fairly unique in its own right, the guns all looks as aswell, even if shooting it aweful. Personnally I'd prefere the game if there were no guns, everyone just used melee attacks, and the odd rocket laucher here and there.

Im buying it anyone, buy it if your really interested in it.

Sorry, I had to.

but - it's as close as we can get right now. This and Crysis anyway. Though Red Faction is on a MUCH bigger scale so it's a lot more fun.

and w33n, as for the "new" weapons, I won't spoil that for you. You get some really cool stuff. Go play around in "Wrecking Crew" when you start the game up.
