Err.
Explain, please.

Explain this "Wrecking Mode", please.

Nevermind, I forgot my Google Searchbar.

It gets old pretty fast. After demolishing 35 enemy buildings that all look pretty much the same and staring at red sand for 3 hours, you've pretty much seen it all.
It's still a fun game though.

Three hours is pretty good.

Not as good as Dead Rising's 25+ and still going, but good nonetheless.

ALSO OBLIVION, 102 HOURS, WTF MAN.

The demo's amazing fun, I've played it like 50 times.
True, but to quote Yahtzee, it could be the shining golden reflection of a pile of piss.

OT: I've played the game at some friend's houses, and it just doesn't seem that appealing.
How could the rest be a pile of piss? Its just the demo, but bigger.
That's what they said about Mirror's Edge, but whatever.

Mirrors edge is linear though.

Being open world, Red faction is quite literally more of the same.

Plus the Mirrors edge demo I only played a few times.

I can't tell one cover based third person shooter with regenerating health from another anymore.

"Wait was that Terminator Salvation? No I am pretty sure that was from Army of Two. Hey thats that level from Uncharted... Or was it Dark Sector."

Seriously, this is getting rediculous.
Not a cover-based tps, it's an open world destructive sand-box game.

Dark Chronicle - 200+ hours.

Do I win?

It's definitely worth purchasing.

I've been playing it for four days straight, and I am still impressed by a particularly well-executed demolition.

(To be fair, though, it's extremely gratifying to me in particular, as my real job in demolishing houses is nowhere near this much fun.)

I tried the demo for RF:G since I really enjoyed the old ones, but I sort of lost interest only a couple of minutes into the game when I realized it was "Gears of Destructable Environment".

On reflection that sounds pretty good, maybe I should give it another go...

My housemate rented it this evening and its been pretty fun just smashing everythin down, we have played maybe 2-3 hours and have done maybe 3 main story missions the rest has just been side missions smashing things to bits. The critisisms I have so far are the enemy seem to enjoy running you over so you cant attack then killing you which is a bit cheap and the vehicle handle really badly. Other than thats its good fun.

Bland single player.
Unbalanced but functional multi player.
Not god awful but not worth going crazy over is what I have seen.

I'm undecided on purchasing it as well. I think the physics engine in it is absolutely amazing and something that should be exploited in all games where possible, but I could see that game having a very short lifespan if I bought it. I'd get tired of knocking down walls eventually. Having said that it is from the same makers of Saints Row 2 which turned out to be a cracking game after I thought it was going to be bland.

Demo was pretty fun, if you like intense mindless violence or smashing random crap, go for it.

So I've bought 7 games in the past 3 weeks, including RF:G which I ordered today.
It's being delayed on the site I bought it from, so I can still cancel the order and get my money back.

What I want to ask you guys about is...
Is RF:G actually good? I mean, I've played the demo for some time now, watched all the movies and I still think it looks "smashing", so to speak, hey-hey, pun intended.

Please post YOUR opinion about this game.
Also, for those who care, my buying list:

-Dark Sector
-The Dishwasher
-Mortal Kombat III
-Wolfenstein 3D
-Black
-Prototype (drool)
-Red Faction: Guerilla

~w33n~
dark sector, pretty good game, definatly worth the price its at now
mortal kombat 3, decent fighter, I liked mk2 better
wolfenstein 3d, was great back in the day but cant really hold up to doom2
redfaction guerilla, lots of fun, story is kind of throw away but the game is a blast altho it takes a bit to get into it

It is fun! Unlike the previous two Red Faction games.
Did you even play the first one? Its a freaking classic 2 is when it went casual and started to suck....not herd anything good about RF3 just more bland casual trash for the masses... like Damnation....
