Ok well I am not sure if you guys have played the first one, if not well I think you might be missing out if your looking for more of a simulator in your FPS. Red Orchestra is quite a low budget title and now quite old, the gameplay is quite realistic unlike the more popular ones, which isn't a good or a bad thing...just different. I know there are other sim style FPS but I think this game does it the best, way better than ARMA 2 and even Ghost Recon. There is bundles of maps, created by players and devs alike, the vehicle play isn't too in your face and, with actual requirment for strategical placement. The battlefields are objective based and range in size, from small infantry skirmishes to large scale tank warfare.

Anyways, this isn't a review, maybe I am trying to make people more aware...but still not a review. I was just wondering what your guys thoughts are on the up and coming sequel to this game, if you played the first one, and even if you knew about the sequel. I am a little excited because again the studio isn't high budget and by the looks of it, they are really making a game THEY would like to play, not marauding Xbox gamers who care more about their kill streaks, and would even sacrifice their enjoyment to ensure their rank is at the max.

I'm not leaping for this game just because it is "realistic" but more because it has a unique feel, I do enjoy flying around with a rocket blaster and a big fuck off plasma gun, but I also enjoy putting fire down and moving as a team etc.

Here is some links, a gameplay video (mind you it is low quality due to the fact it is apparently leaked) and the official website. However on first glance I think new comers or people who have yet to play the game will not be swayed by video and visuals, the game doesn't particularly look at all refreshing, and it is difficult to describe the way a game feels, it's one you just have to play to get the idea.

Here we go:

Enjoy guys, I hope I have made you aware of something that interests you.

For me the joy in ArmA2 is fighting intelligent AI and the amazing mission editor. If this game has that then I am sold.

This is a must have. I've seen some gameplay videos and they rock. Very innovative sniper gameplay. When you see something like this it becomes evident why console FPS games are limiting PC's true potential. Just look at some of the gameplay videos and you'll see what I mean. This game would be impossible to make on a console due to gamepad limitations.

When I was first introduced to RO, I was totally blown away. I had recently come from the sell-out Day of Defeat HL mod and wasn't too keen on getting into another franchise that may well do the same thing. RO has been a beacon of awesome, realistic FPS gameplay without a lot of BS.

I've been engaged in this development cycle since its inception. This looks crazy good and Tripwire is just awesome. They've totally earned my respect.
