Well, I sadly do not have the finances to afford a 360 or a PS3 so I got myself a Wii. Now, regardless of what you say and think, I love my Wii. I have several games for it and all have been completed 100%. I even had a few games downloaded onto it. However, earlier today, my little brother was playing some game on the Wii and and left to go eat dinner. When we finished, he turned it back on and... everything was gone! Every Mii, game data, everything. I was busy with homework and thought he was over-reacting like usual so I told him to turn it off and let it sit for a while. When I finally go to check on it, the usual blue power button has turned bright red. I knew then that something was wrong. He said that it turned red when he first turned it off again. So I turn it on and sure enough... everything is wiped clean. So my question to you guys is, has this ever happened to you, and if so how do you fix it?
And for additional discussion, have you ever accidentally wiped your memory from a game or had it wiped?

Are you sure your little brother didn't format all the memory by accident, and he's just not telling you? i used to do stuff like that to my sisters. tee hee

how long have you had it for? usally the longer you have somthing the more likelly that it will die! As it seems with most consels after its warinty ends it will die and you'll have to eiter reset it or buy a new one

And yes i have accidentally wiped the memery from my PS3, as it broke and so did my computers hard drive
... so i put the still working hard drove of the PS3 into my computer, the computer works reat but its erased all of my game data!

And i brought lots from the PlayStation store aswell!

I know the red light on the power button happens when you plug in the Wii to a power socket (after having removed it for a while) and have yet to actually turn it on once again. I saw it a few times as I move my Wii around occasionally.

It sounds likely that your brother might have just reformatted the system without telling you.

A red light on the power button means the Wii was fully turned off (instead of Orange/Yellow, which means the Wii is simply in sleep mode), and the blue light around the disc drive only flashes blue and cannot flash red unless you replace said light yourself.

Thus, like others have said, your brother probably reformatted the system by accident and is lying to cover his ass.
