Thanks for the tips. Bottom line is, I found the first game to be pretty average and, in a way, a little pretentious. The second game was ok, but both of them really failed to grab me. It didn't help that I played it at a time I was going through games like Broken Sword 1, Grim Fandango, Discworld Noir, Myst III & IV, and other better adventure games. They just seemed to make it glaringly obvious how second rate TLJ was.
Oh whoops, I didn't realize you'd already played both.

Yeah, it's about the same for me. I feel like I might have done myself a disservice by playing the Myst series so early on in my gaming career, because it more or less ruined most other adventure games for me. (Still need to get hold of Grim Fandango somehow.)

So excited about this! I kind of want to pledge the $75 to get hold of that graphic novel... is this wise? Probably not. Am I going to? Very likely.

Need.

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED.

I was kind of furious at Dreamfall's ending. This gives me hope.

I do have to say, there's a bit of a fact-checking fail in this article.

The kickstarter has been open for 21 hours (not even a full day yet) and is now sitting at 40% funded, or a little shy of $350k. (I know it would have been lower when the article was written. I just object to the phrase "after one day" used in it.)

I might back this but, screw it, its Failcom. Those guys have given me a lot of crap over the years during the time i played Anarchy Online and though i'm tempted to go for this i dont want to put another penny in their pockets.

Funcom is only providing the Longest Journey brand; they're not giving a cent toward development, nor are they getting any money.
