Anyone else extremely excited? I loved what they did from Season 6 (Reconstruction) onwards, adding a higher focus on the story while still retaining the hilarity that made the show so loved in the first place. They've taken the show awesome places, and I can't wait to see where else it goes.

Anyone else really psyched for the season 9 premiere in two days?

EDIT: I did use the search bar, but couldn't find any threads about the show since the first trailer for this season was announced.

This thread has been made quite a bit, I believe.

Never watched the series myself; not really interested.
So nah:].

It's funny that Burnie Burns has built an entire business around what is basically ridiculous halo fan fiction!

I can't wait, it looks like it's going to be awesome!

Though, I still like the first five seasons the best. They had nothing to do with Halo, except a couple of jokes were funnier if you played it and that they used the Halo engine. The new series is a little too serious. Still freaking awesome, but not quite AS good.

It premiers in 2 days!? :O
I need to be more in touch with the internet!
Anyway, yeah! I'm totally excited, thinking of how awesome the last season was though, I'm a little concerned about how much more awesome they can make it.
But I did favourite the trailer on youtube (like that says anything...) so Yeah, Completely Psyched! :D

I like the style they are going with for this season. Reach for the present day dealings with the Blood Gulch crew, and full Monty Oum animation for the Freelancer parts set in the past.

And he's dragged along 10+ manchildren into a job that basically entails drinking, playing video games, and making videos for the internet. Lucky bastards...

OT: I loved the preview for it, hopefully the season will be awesome as well.

I'm looking forward to it. The last series was good, it was just a shame that all the ones between that and episode 100 were utterly forgettable.

I knew the guys at Rooster Teeth had good jobs, but this video really takes the cake:

"Hey Geoff, we need you to take a break from working on whatever humorous short you're doing or game you're playing and wrestle with some half naked women while your wife watches!"

My feelings toward the most recent Red vs. Blue seasons have been somewhat lacking. While it's nice to see that there's a real story going on, it feels as though the creators are trying put that in the forefront instead of the humor and team dynamics that made the machinima popular. And with this new one, it looks like there's going to be no humor whatsoever, so I probably will find it boring. Hopefully the creators will get it back together in future seasons.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm not a huge fan of all of the model animation work that started appearing in the most recent seasons. It just looks awkward and really doesn't add much to the machinima.

I'm way more out of touch, last season I saw was 5. And one of the miniseries. But the trailer was damn cool. I'll end up watching it at some point.

I thought the recent episodes were memorable compared to most of the Blood Gulch Chronicles, but both series had the problem of wrapping stuff up at the end with lightning speed; which took away from the experience especially when you were tired from the long day and had a sci-fiction series rip off dropped into your lap every Monday for six weeks. The Monty Oum action scenes were pretty well done, and added some depth to the machinima. They basically kept and interesting conflict out of the first five seasons for humor, so it was a refreshing change to see a competent person in the show. The fact that the whole group of them can support a business on the entire thing isn't surprising, considering how you could get nerds to buy anything if it has a game's stamp on the side. I'm excited, though, because they're good at what they do, even if it's comparable to taste-tester in the ratio of work to benefits. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends out being the shark-jumping moment for them.

Although I like that they're putting more story into their series I prefer the humour and hope they don't sacrifice it for action and storyline.

I felt that as the blood gulch chronicles went on it just got a little more and more over the top. By season 5 I thought they were crossing the line between ridiculously funny and just plain ridiculous.

I'm glad they introduced a proper story line in season 6, and I thought the twist at the end of the season was very clever. It gave me goosebumps. Also thier own animation brings them a whole new level of control, and season 8 episode 10 was amazing.

So hell yeah am I excited!

Couldn't care less, a friend showed me some of the early ones in Halo CE and they were quite good, then he showed me one of the more recent ones and I really didn't like it at all, it had to much additional animation that you cant actually do in the games. I thought the whole point was that the events where actually performed in the game setting with the game mechanics, once you start adding top notch animation you lose the personal touch the earlier ones had.
