Arkham in Devil May Cry 3
I don't think Arkham counts- I mean, it looks like he dies the first time, but
you later find out that he's the main villain and he comes back to life with giant bluish tentacles and the ability to summon slimy eels....
I mean that the instant you see him
you just know he's going to die.
why are you putting "the bad guy dies" under a spoiler heading.

Your sepcial forces escort interval 2 F.E.A.R
I know, every time you get an SFOD-D "escort",they all die within 5 seconds. Anyway, I have to say that, from F.E.A.R, Holiday is a Mauve shirt [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MauveShirt] Also, anyone wearing a helmet in Gears, to the point I think we should replace "red shirt" with "helmet head"

You can never know who's going to get their panties in a tangle when something like that doesn't have a spoiler label.

Every single Attack bomber pilot in the original Homeworld. I mean, they all blew themselves up trying to kill an enemy scout before I stopped using them... They seem like Ultra redshirts to me. "Oh noes! Enemies! Start firing randomly, that'll get him. BLARGH!" And they didn't even kill the scout!!

Let's not forget your Uncle from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Yeah.... He went down a little quick.

Turok for the 360. Oh, not the main character, I mean the game it's self... The thing is a round Redshirt. It even comes with a hole in it's center.

Freespace 2, well, pretty much the whole crew of the Colossus, and the ship it's self.

Those aren't redshirts. A redshirt is someone who has a (usually unavoidable) plot-related death in order to evoke sympathy from the audience/player and show "just how dangerous" something is. Cannon fodder and mooks are a different thing. Most of you people are doing it wrong, by the way - remember, the character has to die as part of the plot, and has to exist solely to bite it as an example and to give the protagonist motive to continue (usually revenge). Furthermore, in most cases (but not all) redshirts are introduced as named characters who are supposed to have some sort of prior connection or significance to the protagonist, which means that the masses of, say, Rebel Alliance troops that die aren't necessarily redshirts, at least not in a strict sense. That means that plot-important people who later die are not redshirts, which rules out, say, Louis from Resident Evil 4 but includes the two random helicopter pilots in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.

Here are some examples:

Jenkins from Mass Effect (he's pretty much a shout-out or lampshade hanging because he fits the stereotype so perfectly), Jester from Crysis (one of Nomad's team members who gets mutilated by aliens), Johnny from BioShock (guy at the beginning who gets his guts ripped out by a Splicer), Jonas from Fallout 3 (doctor in Vault 101 at the beginning of the game), Emperor Uriel Septim VII from Oblivion, Trask Uglo from Knights of the Old Republic (he wears red, serves as the game's tutorial, and dies valiantly after three minutes - probably another shout-out), Kim and Carmine in Gears of War, Leo in The Witcher, and Arnold (I think that's his name anyway) in Supreme Commander.

I can remember a scene in Fracture where these two soldiers show up, and the one guy says "I'm heading home in a week" and the other starts saying that he's bound to die, now that he's said that, and as they walk around a corner they get gunned down instantly. I laughed so hard at that.

Little known fact that Carmine and all his brothers had 4 kids so that way a Carmine brother will always die in gears.

It would be hillarious if they had about 9 carmines all being mowed down in the same scene.

Spoiler Alert!: Dog doesnt die

Sheriff... I mean Captain Picard...I mean emporer Uriel Septim was funny for me since me and my friends were playing it and we were all guessing he was going to die.

Whoever is at the front of the landing boat in any Omaha beach level.

I must of seen the same generic soldier die like 100 times throughout all of the war games involving Omaha beach I've played.

Hell, all the marines in the Halo series. Particularly the civilians in the room before a pair of hunters. It doesn't matter if they live, only if you do. Sgt Johnson is the obvious exception to the rule, being a character and invincible.
he dies
That point is true. However, due to the cinematic and plot importance of the event that can in no way be compared to the expectations of a redshirt.
