Serious warning. You are about to see a woman and children wrongly handcuffed and face down in the asphalt, for an arrest that turns out to be faulty to begin with. The cries are not for the faint of heart. Please trust me on this.
To summarize the story, The police mistakenly accused and arrested a black woman with a number of children of being in a stolen car. According to the woman, she tried to present her identification to which the police did not accept. They pulled her and the children out, handcuffed them, and put them face down in the parking lot. The Children were obviously distressed.
As I've stated before, the car was hers.
But... If you don't like Marches... this is how you get Marches.
I'm legitimately trying to corral my thoughts here. I continually have people ask me why am I trying to leave this country. And out of all the answers, Police is usually the one that gets the most pushback. Like "Oh, so you bought into the BLM crap" and blah, blah, blah. I'm going to only use this paragraph to share my own feelings. I didn't buy into it. This has been my whole life. I lived a life where it was a joke by even my teachers that if anyone had a shortened lifespan in the class, it would be me being a black male teen. But I'm going to put a cork in my personal outrage to express the gross negligence of these officers.
Color doesn't matter at this point. Now we're talking about strictly humanity. There is Child Protective Services. If the woman did anything wrong, fine. Arrest her. Maybe not put her face down in hot asphalt, but arrest her. Sit with the car. Soothe the children. Talk with them. Wait until Child Protective Services gets there. Promise safety of their family member.
Be. A God. Damned. Human.
A 6 year old. Someone who might be struggling with left and right and how to tie their shoes gets a lesson of what they are worth in America. That isn't a radicalizing notion?
But you know what? Marches actually work. There are new laws put into effort that remove blanket immunity to prosecution of Police Officers who miscarry justice. This is the first case in recent American history where the officers involved are not going to be protected from their actions because of their blue shield. Decry BLM's tactics all you want. That might be the only way that people get Justice in this country.
And if that's the case? Blame your governments for causing people to need to march for simple. Human. Decency.
