They broke uniform violation and deserve a penalty. It's like how the old saying goes:[HEADING=2]Rules were made to be followed![/HEADING]
[HEADING=1] broken![/HEADING]
This is like suing someone for trespassing in order to clean your windows. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, of course it's ridiculous. This whole court is ridiculous[footnote]...And Justice For All[/footnote]. I hope that the refs get a slap on the wrist and the rule gets changed to allow for special circumstances like this one.

This is fucking stupid. As a former football player I can honestly say that we have some great refs up here in Washington... unless you're in Kelso... I swear to god it is almost imposable to win up there, they're refs are evil. I think that what they (the refs) did was a cool stand up thing that should have gotten them positive recognition instead of being punished.

I was thinking the same thing... who cares about breast cancer? We've got to show everyone that we're manly men and pink is a girly color!
Showing support for a good cause, especially one that's pretty feminine, is pretty manly in itself. *sigh* People are stupid sometimes...

one word, "stupid."

If they want to support something like this that's great, maybe they didn't do the right thing and go up the proper channels, but, that's just flat out stupid they wanna bench them, this sounds like it deserves a slap on the wrist, not media coverage for retardation.

It's sad because if he didn't do something, then someone above him would do something to him, and so on...

So they're being punished for trying to raise breast cancer awareness.

Because it's not 'uniform'. Seriously, that's just anal. I can't believe they're being punished.
If all of the referees choose to use those whistles for their games, it would actually be a 'uniform usage', which would pretty much screw the anal-retentive Mr. Stor-dumb out of his power-trip.

Yeah, I don't give a lot to charities, but stuff like this make me want to support the people that ARE giving up something to charities.

You guys have to realize that he probably "banned" them so their publicity stunt would get more attention than just those that attended the game. And guess what? It worked. This morning there was one paragraph about it in the local newspaper(I live in Seattle), and now its on Yahoo and the Escapist.
That'd be a clever thing to do, but the controversy may overshadow the entire thing. Instead of focusing on the issue of Breast Cancer, the focus is on whether they should be punished for violating protocol. Of course, it could work...I don't know...

I see both sides of the argument.

Still... I'm leaning in the Ref's favor. Mainly because I see it to be pretty childish their making such a big deal of a pink whistle.

The only reason I'm saying that is the reason he gives for banning them is so ridiculously stupid, there has to be something else going on. I don't think someone could be such a dick that they ban someone for raising awareness for breast cancer. Plus, assuming he did do it to help, it sure as hell worked. It went from being a local story to a national story.

Did the refs using pink whistles cure cancer?
It raises awareness which increases donations which increases funding which helps cure it. And yes pink whistles cure cancer it was recently discovered that they can cure aids too.

Sure the refs broke the rules.

But I am certainly not siding with the WOA. The rules are on their side, but the chairman can go fuck himself.
