Regarding pony hate

Hi!
I was in the "Memes you hate" thread, and noticed a lot of people voted for My Little Pony. I'm just curious of why you hate it. I don't think there's much of a reason to, at least not on the escapist. We keep to ourselfes in the MLP group chat, and the only pony you get from us are our avatars. Otherwise we're like any other escapist user. And I don't see you hating on people with, let's say, TF2 avatars, even though there's a lot of people with that too.

Because you took it a bit far and like all memes it gets annoying after awhile especially if you truly just dont like the show.

Could you please explain why you think we took it too far?

EDIT: And I just want to say that MLP:FiM in istelf is not a meme. It's a show that started a fandom. The fandom has spawned a lot of memes though.

Because for a while (it died down now) everyone and their grandma went around spouting out random MLP shit and stupid MLP pictures for no reason.
It never really made tons of sense, and it got really annoying really fast.
On top of that, there were tons of annoying "What's the big deal with MLP" threads that showed up every day, and that made it seem even more annoying.

It's a craze which grips as many people as it alienates. It appeals to some, but to outsiders it seems very strange to be into a children's cartoon aimed at young girls. To those whom are into it, i imagine they appreciate the shows artistic merits and the sense of community it brings.

Personally i'm staying neutral on the matter. I have no desire to watch the show myself, but nor am i going to say a bad word about it either.

Never really voiced my hate for it, I know what its like to like something that isn't popular in a community (okay its popular here but what ever). I Like rap and a lot of escapist here hate rap and say its not even a genre. I don't like MLP, In fact I hate it. Don't get me wrong though if you like it I have nothing against you. I am just not that much into it. Its pretty popular here and its annoying when people talk about it but then again who am I to say you shouldn't? No one. As long as no one gets on me for not liking it then I am fine with people who like it.

There have been dozens of threads on this subject. You could have searched for them and gotten a ton of different answers. To answer your question, one of the reasons I hate MLP is becuase the fans don't shut up about it and feel the need to make tons of threads about it. Such as this one.

When it started this place was flooded with it, there were like 5 or 6 threads on the exact subject of either "who's a bronie" to "Regarding pony hate".

Then with like 9 out of 10 avatars being of diabetes inducing ponies, it yanks on that last nerve like a certain video that was described in great detail to me yesterday, which I would tell you about but it would get me a warning at least!

Lets just say if I made about 100 clones to spam about rubix cubes and megaminx's, trying to get people into them and telling people how good they are, twisty puzzles would also get a lot of hate.

Basically, great that you love it but I don't want any part of it.

There is also a lot of hate from "it's for little girls and your not a little girl, so why are you watching it", which I am kind of in.

Probably continually seeing this for one.[ It wouldnt havent gotten old if you came up with more interesting or funnier stuff but ive yet to see any. The same joke gets stupid after awhile.

I haven't seen that one in ages. There is quite a huge amount of orginal content that the MLP community makes constantly.

I liked the craze, the memes and pictures were adorable. I haven't watched an episode yet, but I already know some of the characters names and personalities, and I really don't see what's to hate. It's easy enough to avoid if you don't like it anyway.

I think it's mainly about tolerance. Many Escapists have little to none for memes.

This is the first thread about MLP made by a brony that I've seen in... well... forever. The others were made by people asking "What is it?" Plus I've only seen it brought up in other threads because people hate on it in them. Bronies have stopped with the threads a while ago. Except for this one. -_- We didn't want this made.
